I recently became active in politics when I heard the confrontation between Rudy Giuliani and Ron Paul at the 2nd GOP debate (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKITUOl0NBc). My jaw dropped when I heard their exchange. I had never heard a politician speak so plainly and truthfully. It just made sense what Ron Paul said. I needed to find out if what this guy said is true so I spent the next few weeks researching the issues he identifies as key to reforming our government. At the end of those precious weeks I joined a meetup (#9!) and met others who had also been introduced to Ron Paul in the same way. Now here I am. I consider myself a classic liberal who believes men and women were born free and were meant to stay so. I want to see a government of sufficient size where it is still representative of the peoples dreams and purposes. I do not believe in a left or right, liberal or conservative ideological perspective. I instead believe in a top or down, or collectivist or individualist mode. I have best seen this explained by the former Democrat and future governor of California Ronald Reagan in "The Speech" given in the Republican Convention 1964 in support to Barry Goldwater's presidential campaign (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yt1fYSAChxs). I rest my case. Ron Paul repeats a lot of the same themes from this time and adds the banking system as the key to the reason of our debts and the runaway federal government we have (see Moral Hazard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgnfxtrAFJQ and even see how Wall Street responds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvirM1goFq4&feature=related). Finally one of the best Ron Paul videos I have ever seen Ron Paul: A New Hope 2.0 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIivoqLbeeg&feature=related). Remember that all of the Ron Paul clips are from at the earliest November of 2007. Much, much more has happened now that Ron Paul has said would happened. Get educated, and prosper.
