I believe there is no moral use of any use of force that is not in self-defense. This severely limits what I personally can do, and what the government can do. I have been a fan of Ron Paul since about two years before he started his presidential run (not exactly the "ground floor, but pretty close), and I ran a small campaign in my area for him. I am an economist of the Austrian school, although I wouldn't denounce a Chicago economist in public ;). My favorite libertarian thinkers are Locke, Washington, Jefferson, Henry, Madison, Franklin, Taft, Rand, Rothbard, Mises, Bourne, Lewis, Friedman, Sowell, Branden, Paul, and Cox.
