For the sake of brevity I'll stick to what got me interested in politics. I became fascinated with politics and government in a rather roundabout way. I was six when Dukakis was running for president. I had no idea what he or his opponent stood for. I just knew he was a Masshole like myself. I was in high school when Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher moved to ABC. I had never seen the show before since my family didn't have cable. I was hooked on the whole format. Everything Bill said made perfect sense to me. So when he identified himself as Libertarian I jumped on the internet to find out more. I was a card carrying member of the LP in no time. I read the newsletter and debated with my co workers at Pankratz Studios & Gallery. I was first eligible to vote in 2000. I was attending Johnson & Wales University in Denver. So I drove an hour back to Monument so that I could vote for Harry Brown and still make my 8 am class. Its because of the LP that I read Atlas Shrugged. That book made me see the world in a whole new way. People in office were slowly but surely moving us toward a statist society. I'm not about to let that happen. I had read about Ron Paul in the LP newsletter. When I saw him on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart I realized that this guy is leading where I want to follow. So here I am 2 years later; ready for the next step. I am a dues paying member of the Campaign for Liberty. I encourage anyone who reads this to join me there. Since we all share the same goals our groups should not be mutually exclusive. My Content: My Forum Posts: |
