Currently, I am the Libertarian Candidate for Illinois' 14th Congressional District (Denny Hastert's old seat) which has been temporarily filled by Bill Foster - a socialist Democrat - via a special election held last Super Tuesday. The Republican opponent (Jim Oberweis) he defeated will be running against Foster and me in November's general election. Although the 14th CD is historically very conservative (20 years of Republican representation), Oberweis' pro-war position as well as his "Bush-clone" platform was his downfall. This has created one of those "seize the moment" opportunities as the 14th CD's electorate is starving for a real option. This, along with my love of our country and my fear for her future, was what prompted me to run for this office. ___________________________________________________________________ I've been an active Constitutionist for about 20 years. In the early 1990's, I co-founded the Council on Domestic Relations (CDR) to counter the CFR. For ten years, the CDR networked concerned Americans in more than 130 area codes. Primarily, CDR's volunteers reviewed pending federal and state legislation to identify unconstitutional bills before they were passed. Phone blitzes to our public servants were organized in attempts to stop the passage of such bills. ___________________________________________________________________ In 1996, I ran for Congress as a Libertarian in Illinois' 8th Congressional District against then 14 term incumbent, Phil Crane. While Crane had a fairly good constitutional track record up to that point, he became the torch-bearer for NAFTA and GATT, which prompted my challenge. ___________________________________________________________________ In 1985, I received a Bachelor of Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology. I own and operate a national business & facility development firm specializing in medically based fitness centers and medical campuses. My company employs about 80 people. ___________________________________________________________________ I am a veteran of the USAF (1976 - 1980) and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Longevity Medal, and Marksmanship ribbon. ___________________________________________________________________ I'm happily married with three wonderful children who are my inspiration to fight for liberty and freedom.
