I don't know if I just missed this discussion but as of late I feel that it needs addressing. Yesterday was a huge money bomb day for Alex Jones in support of his independent television offering on Dish Network (sound familiar). I've also become an avid viewer of the both the Free Media Networks and Ron Paul Radio. Finally I've been very excited about the prospect of what Break the Matrix wants to do to provide alternative broadcasting on the boob tube. Each of these organizations are ambitious and tirelessly pursue something new to bring to market. Often each is not only scrambling for funding but also content and what to fill 24/7 with. As I go to each of these sources including the Ron Paul sites in general I see a lack of discussion across the board about what each is doing to contribute to the Freedom Movement. Essentially they are all splintered yet the supporters, like myself, jump back and forth between them. They all want essentially the same thing but often they know nothing of what the others are already doing.

Why!?

The other day realizing that my local Ron Paul Meetup hadn't posted a message advertising the Branson, MO Freedom Rally I started looking at other groups in Kansas City to see if there was a carpool being planned. Branson is merely 4 hours away from my home in Kansas yet not a single group in the area had posted the news (fully active groups). To see Ron Paul! Live! I joined a group on the Missouri side who spun off of a larger group in Kansas City to find a carpool but by this time it was too late. Sure I blame myself for waiting till the day before but why is something so important as our neighbors Convention rally not being shared?

Too me this is silly and happens all the time. If one submits news about things to another source, they either sit on it for days or decide not to post the information on their site. Is it that some people want to be first in this movement or elevated above other members, I seriously do not know. It just seems that there isn't enough collaboration with like minded individuals. This is my biggest fear about the outcome of our upcoming July 12th March. It will be all about Ron Paul and not about freedom, liberty, and unity. Can we not break out of our own shells and make partnerships with one another to help spread the freedom message, a message that we all share. I hope this stimulates a healthy conversation, I think it is our #1 hurdle.

Alex Jones made $200,000 for his cause last night for a freedom oriented tv station, that is all I'm saying.

I didn't want this

I didn't want this discussion to be all about Alex Jones and justifying his patriotism and his impact on the Freedom Movement, let alone the Ron Paul campaign. I simply wanted a healthy debate about considering teaming up with prominent members to have a humble role in this BTM network. I still haven't seen that debate without people resorting to competition talk. You wouldn't be competing with these people, they would be contributors. I'm trying to look at a broader scope of individuals who are effective in very particular sectors. I'm simply concerned about maximizing the success of this network and the idea of excluding a long list of effective or credible resources who command legions of supporters and resources themselves would be foolish for BTM. BTW, what they do is newsworthy as well.

You heard it

from the man himself. I tend to be more blunt when letting my feelings be know about Alex Jones. Rick may very well have been working this message longer than I have and I think most will agree that just simply talking common sense to people doesn't always work and I been at it for about 20 yrs...
Screaming at people like Jones does.. never works. Did you hear me? I am not questioning anyones patriotism. It's the style that is a complete turn off.

I would also add that Rick's style is a much more acceptable and admirable approach of promoting the message.

Perhaps I Wasn't Clear . . .

. . . We at BTM have no intention of excluding anyone who supports our freedom message. R

Alex Jones Has His Own Unique Style

Both "sides" of this thread make legitimate and important points. On the one hand, Alex Jones has done significant work for freedom over a period of years and we at BTM wish him nothing but the best for the future. On the other hand, Alex Jones' style and some points of emphasis in his presentation are different from our own. Distinctions exist, but the good news is this: there's room in the mainstream market for many different voices and faces-- dozens; hundreds-- and the words and philosophies of freedom are open to all. While we at BTM perceive that our "for profit" business model with a traditional capital investment structure is the best option for lasting success, we also recognize that "donations" strategies are available for those who might choose to follow a different course. This sort of "competition" in business modeling is as it should be, and our core overview on this point is to encourage freedom voices anywhere across the radio and television spectrum. R

The fastest way

to the destruction of the Freedom movement and Break the Matrix is to associate itself with Alex Jones. Don't go there BTM.

Reliability of Alex Jones

There was a blog posted (it's been deleted) that suggested that Alex Jones is in fact Bill Hicks, that Hicks faked his death and returned as Alex Jones. I don't know if this is true or not.

Could be dis-info, or could be something that needs clarification.

The comment above is just

The comment above is just evidence of the negativity that will put countless more hurdles before us. This holier than though attitude is what has denied us chances every step of the way. Maybe it is because I am young, from a more tolerable generation. Maybe I can see the big picture from having to deal with a fairly liberal constituency that I attend school with. We won't reach more people with our message if we are afraid or think we are higher than this group or that. If there is something each can offer then more power to us. Apparently Ron Paul isn't afraid to associate himself with Alex Jones. He's basically on the show every month! The money bomb that Alex Jones is doing, as said above, was devised by an individual responsible with the Ron Paul money bomb in the past. All I can say is that this mentality is silly and divisive. We'll have a harder time if we think we can do this all ourselves instead of pooling our resources. What is so wrong with that? Do we want to be mediocre, or do we want to enlist the assistance and talent of those that are tried and true and supportive to our cause? What of these other channels? Is there something distasteful that they should be excluded as well? We are in no position to be exclusionary and think that we can win this country back with an exclusive core membership. Seems to me that is something the Neo-Cons in Washington are betting on come November.

Its called

being older and wiser my friend.
Instead of attacking me why don't you defend your man Alex and tell everyone just what a great asset he will be to our movement.. hmmm
As I have stated many times before I like Alex.. the problem I have is that he is a loudmouth, propagandist and his style is very self serving.. with time you will figure this out and you will also find out what a turn off it is to the average person that we are trying to attract here at BTM.

oh yeah... btw .. how come they haven't listed any of the dozen or so videos by AJ on the BTM site.?

hmmmm?

Alex Jones Money Bomb

So last I checked the Money Bomb made an additional 50,000 since the end of the show but also there is a projected 50,000 coming in via mail. Did anyone hear if there was any further activity / speculation on how well they did overall?

To me $300,000 would be an excellent dowry for a partnership.

Working Together

I think that the 'same people' that created the Ron Paul money bomb organizing the infowars money bomb speaks volumes as to the answer, which is YES we all can work together.

I absolutely agree with you

I absolutely agree with you on this competition thing but I also realize that together we can be 10x more effective in the beginning to reconsolidate this revolution.

competition could be a good thing

When it comes to starting TV or radio stations, competition could be a good thing because one project could motivate the other project to work faster. Having said that, if Alex Jones has trouble coming up with content for his TV station, I hope he won't mind working with BTM. Also, I hope the station won't be about 9/11 24 7.
