If there is any story that needs to be prominently shown and discussed, it is this one about the Liberty Dollars with Ron Paul's image on it: http://www.nysun.com/national/us-raids-issuer-of-ron-paul-coins/66542/

Ron advocates competing currencies, obviously our federal government doesn't want any competition for their private fiat currency. It is probably no coincidence that the FBI would confiscate coins with Ron's image on them, just to make a statement.

This should be a front page article for BTM.

On a side note (but sort of related)

It is interesting to see Dr. Paul's "Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act" continue to be introduced and continue to be buried in committee until the bill dies at the end of the Congressional Session... never a debate... never a discussion... never a vote.

106th Congress: H.R. 1148 Dead
107th Congress: H.R. 5356 Dead
108th Congress: H.R. 2778 Dead
110th Congress: H.R. 2755 Soon to be Dead

Hmmmmm...... I wonder why this is never even debated on the floor?!?

Bernanke defending the Fed

I was actually encourage by one thing: At his last testimony, I understand (I haven't seen the video yet) that Bernanke spoke at some length about the need for a central bank, and also defended fractional reserve banking. I know his position on both would not surprise anyone, BUT CAN ANYONE REMEMBER A FED CHAIRMAN FEELING HE HAD TO DEFEND FRACTIONAL RESERVE BANKING? I think that the fact that he felt he had to make those remarks indicates that FINALLY, the horrible practice of fractional reserve banking, which inevitably leads to the need for a central bank, is being questioned. I was encouraged that Bernanke was worried enough that he felt he had to address it. Let's keep the pressure up!

that's what i keep saying

be very optimistic about where we are right now.
these people are finding themselves in a position where they feel the need to explain their actions. this is a big step.
also, i'll pitch again my belief that the powers that be, do keep a close eye on public opinion. they seem to be in a stage now where they're trying to calm down the uprising (for lack of a better term) before it gets too big to handle.

That is why we need to keep

the pressure, awareness, and discussion at a maximum level

I completely agree. This

I completely agree. This should be front page. It was so wrong it what they did. It just proves to me more how much they are afraid of Ron Paul.

I was lucky enough to get a coin, they are beautiful.

Maui Dollars - Competing currency?

I have a Maui dollar with a dolphin on it. It's not made of gold, so I'm not worried the government will steal it from me. You can buy Maui dollars on the island of Maui, in the State of Hawaii. The money benefits the local communities, and I believe it mainly funds a head-start program of some kind, for the children of the island.

You can save your Maui dollar as a nice souvenir; or, you can spend it anywhere on the island of Maui. It has a value of one dollar.

This is just like Disney dollars, a competing currency in Disneyland, Anaheim, California.

The last time I bought a real coin of gold, it was from Canada and has a picture of the Queen of England on it. Purchased in California. So, you could contend, it is a competing currency as well. And totally legal.

These federal agents have no legal grounds whatsoever. I wish this story would go mainstream so that people would finally understand that this government has run amok over the citizens!!!

Some updates

The Liberty Dollar has been upgraded to the eLiberty Dollar back in February.

https://www.libertydollar.org/eld/eldstatement.htm#history

As of May 3 they are still working on getting their property back. I hope somebody is documenting this entire travesty, and then use it as another example of how our government is out of control.

They have a class action lawsuit against the FBI for stealing their property:

" If you have no standing and finally want to get involved, no problem. There is still $20 million Liberty Dollars in circulation. Simply get some paper Liberty Dollars and sign up for the Class Action Lawsuit. Please join the fight to defend your right to own and use gold and silver as you so chose by signing up for this Class Action Lawsuit. This is the only way you will get your stolen property back."

Go to eBay, buy a Liberty Dollar certificate, then join the class action lawsuit and demand that the government return your silver that they confiscated:

The sign on Ron Paul's desk

Ever seen the sign on Dr. Paul's desk? It reads "Don't steal. The government hates competition."
The Federal Reserve is a proven illegal cartel. They have great power over us all, and perhaps that alone is the biggest problem facing us in our fight for our Constitutional freedoms. If we could shed the Fed and the IRS with it our fight would become much more tangible.

This is incredible

Forget the currency manipulations and interest rate shenanigans --- this is a bold progression to outright thievery in broad daylight!

I would love to hear an update, but can't find anything.
