Must we have ads paid for by the McCain campaign on our site? let alone our home page?

I'm in...

I was originally of the same opinion...get rid of the McCain ad!!!

But then I read through the comments. I have to say that I agree with taking McCain's money for the purpose of spreading truth.

God knows he won't do so on his own.

McCain ads...

I think the ads show up in relation to topic words in the forum.

I post in another forum, and when someone posted a link to the article about the kid who was decapitated by the roller coaster, Google Ads brought up advertisements for Six Flags...

We're Missing an Oppurtunity!

We're missing an oppurtunity to drain the McCain campaign of some funds, while helping out this site as well! Just click away!

not so simple after all

I too was a little surprised to see McCain ads on this site. Then Trevor's comments made me realize it was not that simple!

thank you Trevor

I suggest we have a full forum topic dedicated to this debate... it will help those who get the jolt like I did.

Peace

Sun Tzu would love it...

Hey, money is money, right? What better way to fund the BTM site than having the McCain and Obama campaigns paying for a lot of it?

Besides, I use Firefox with Ad-Block! :)

How about a Ron Paul poster?

Why can't we put up a Ron Paul poster too? Of course it should be larger than the McCain poster.

Freedom

Freedom of the press, lest we start to suppress just because it is not our view. Let them all pay for our freedom to express our views.

Clickathon!

Great idea, Boris ;)

What could be better than having John McCain pay to get our message out?

Lisa I had the same initial reaction when the first McCant

advertisement showed up in the BTM website. Then I noticed the small print at the bottom of his ad. It says "Paid for by John McCain 2008". It made me realize that many of our adversaries will be helping to pay the bills for Basic Media Incorporated (Break the Matrix parent company).
That is an ironic and pleasant thought!

I LOVE the McCain Ads!

While I seriously dislike McCain I have clicked on it a few times. And really I should click on those ads every time I visit BTM. I will accept their invitation to read McCains views in exchange for the benefits it provides BTM as an advertiser.

I say, lets all read McCain views. We are intelligent people and I believe that with our integrity we have nothing to fear by learning his views.

ok more seriously- how can

ok more seriously- how can we be a legitimate media company and ban political advertisements w/ views we disagree with? Did FOX ban Ron Paul from running his ads on their networks? Would you have been outraged if they did? Even FOX didn't stoop that low and they are way below our standards.

I Clicked Up LISA's essay! Clickathon!

And her... idea to bring forth the discussion of those ads might be a great discussion for BTM!

I CLICKED IT UP TO MAKE IT MORE PROMINENT!

So keep it up Lisa, come and comment, YOU TOO show us your point.

Click, click, clickathon!

Do a bit of research...

*snicker* That's funny, I don't care who you are.

On point:

If you do any research on the "pork" this ad states that McCain got rid of, you will find out McCain did not even vote nay on these amendments when they came up for vote.

They are just great examples of false advertising to promote the false issues McCain presents to Joe 6-Pack.
