Memorial Day Weekend need not only revere the dead.*

Of the many actions the liberty movement can and should take, a great one is proper attribution for Ron Paul. Not only because it's the right thing to do, but because it's wise for our movement itself.

Ron Paul said and is saying all that he believes is true, despite the political cost. So when his predictions bear out, we should shout it from the mountain tops. I'll be enjoying a barbecue or two this weekend, and those with me will have to enjoy my attributions for Ron Paul... like his predictions about rising, non-CPI reflected inflation. Who was the only one talking about inflation through the debates? Ron Paul. Why? Because he understands monetary policy, fiat money and a currency in steep decline.

Bubbles, foreign interventionism, entitlement imbalances, loss of privacy, on and on. His foresight needs attribution now, not later, so that people can see the wisdom in liberty now, and not when it's proclaimed by a temporary convert. One example: there may soon be a day (Tom Harkin started down that path this week) when the Democrats co-opt the message of humble foreign policy as an attack against McCain. 700 bases in 130 countries, preemption, America as the lone military superpower against the "transcendent threat of our times, terrorism," decades of troop presence oversees, etc. Maybe even the Dems will start talking about bringing troops home from South Korea, Japan and Europe.

Trade and talk with all nations and entangling alliances with none... it is Ron Paul that resurrected that Thomas Jefferson sentiment, no one else on the political stage. It's Ron Paul that spoke of removing troops from Japan. etc.

Let's remind everyone we can, from Howard at the barbecue to Howard Fineman at Newsweek, and commemorate Ron Paul for being the first to say it.

Maybe BTM can become Attribution Central for Ron Paul... all it takes at first is solid press releases. It's doing right by the Doctor, it's doing right by our movement.
