Posted by sheeple2peeple on Thu, 04/24/2008 - 12:15 in Some may think it is time to restore the Constitution. The Granny Warriors certainly do, and have put forward a petition to do just that.
Positive as this move is, the petition's title, To Restore the Constitution, is somewhat of a misnomer, and falls afoul of the Constitution itself. Certainly there is no possible way to restore something that has not been lost, and citizens everywhere live from day to day knowing that the power of the Constitution is their ultimate weapon to protect their liberties and freedoms. We must never succumb to the point of view that this needs restoration; it is and shall remain the de-facto standard of coexistence and collaboration.
Fortunately, the petition itself is more demanding than its title:
"We remind you that the citizens of this republic are your employers and any continued abrogation and usurpation of the protections and guaranteed rights enumerated in the Constitution and Bill of Rights will result in your dismissal."
In order to present a petition to Congress, a minimum of thirty thousand signatures are required - a trifling number to achieve from amongst the million strong Ron Paul supporters.
If you are amongst those that wish to whip Congress over any dereliction of their duties, you may consider signing the petition at: http://www.petitiononline.com/USRC01/petition.html

First they came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up, because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me. by Rev. Martin Niemoller, 1945
I signed it - took all of about 30 seconds to accomplish. Dugg this page as well.
You just have to love the Granny Warriors :)
