It is a fascinating autobiography of Edward Bernays, a guy who practically invented what we now call "spin". He was a nephew of Sigmund Freud and used many insights from Freud's writings to apply to the masses. He has two books I also recommend: Propaganda and Crystallizing Public Opinion. After you read these books you will never look at the media in any form the same way again.
I recommend Power vs. Force by David Hawkins for everyone in the Freedom Movement. Dr. Hawkins makes a good point about how one's level of consciousness determines success or failure for his/her cause. If one operates at a level below 200 (the level of courage), he/she will be a negative attractor. In order to be a positive attractor (and inspire others to join the cause) one must operate at a level of 200 or above. Personally, I think Ron Paul operates at level 500. Curious? Get the book and find out more!
+1 Bernays is the engineer of consent.
I recommend this book: The Father of Modern Spin
