The problem with the media is that they only give Americans one way to look at the situation, and present that perspective as fact, so most of us take it as fact. To me, that's nothing short of mind control. My hope for a solution is this Break the Matrix idea, because we can slowly but surely cause people to take notice that there IS another side to these stories. People should be made to wonder why they are okay with what's happening to the Palestinians. They should be made to wonder why they've never questioned it before.

I think it will take more than this web site, because it seems that mostly here we will be informing the informed, I think it will take ALL the ways we can creatively imagine to wake the masses, ya know?

Zionism certainly differs from that of being Jewish as it's basically a political movement as opposed to a faith or race of people. I also have contention with the way the term "anti-semitism" is continually utilized to stifle any negative comment against Israeli government foreign policy. Certainly, both sides in this issue can be faulted for past transgressions but as you eluded to, one has to wonder why the US and Canadian governments clearly support Israel's position. When the Palestinians fight back, it is an act of terrorism but when Israel retaliates, it's considered a "measured response". Sound familiar?

Anti-semitism is also a rather spurious claim because many other ancient and modern races, including some Muslim groups as well as Anglo-Saxons, were descended from Shem (one of Noah's three sons in the Bible) and therefore could rightfully hold claim to having a "Semitic" ancestry.

It's clear that the neo-cons that dominate the Bush administration are the most rabid supporters of the creation of a Greater Israel along with the confinment of the Palestinians in isolated ghettos along the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Israel’s takeover of land it has occupied for nearly 40 years is in breach of international law and in defiance of countless United Nations resolutions and is even being denounced by several Jewish groups, including the following two from Canada and the US respectively:

The Alliance of Concerned Jewish Canadians (ACJC)

The ACJC is a pan-Canadian umbrella of Jewish anti-Occupation groups. We wish to join Palestinian Canadian and other concerned Canadians in expressing our outrage at the siege of the Gaza Strip. Gaza City was plunged into darkness this past month after Israel blocked the shipment of fuel that powers its only electrical plant. 1.5 million Palestinians civilians who live in Gaza are besieged and are suffering from severe food, medicine and life essentials, shortages imposed on them by the inhumane Israel aggression. Israel, which occupies the Palestinian territories, is starving and killing Palestinians in hopes of forcing them into submission and into accepting its illegal occupation and to forgo the right of return.

The ACJC join the Palestinian Canadian community in demanding that the Canadian government, politicians, and MPs:

1. Condemn the latest Israel aggression against the Palestinians in Gaza.
2. Demand an immediate halt to all Israeli brutal use of military force against the Palestinians which is taking a serious humanitarian toll on civilians.
3. Lift the blockade on the Palestinian people and allow all living essentials, food, medicine and energy to enter the territories without any delay.
4. Allow an independent international tribunal to enter the Palestinian territories to investigate Israel’s war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
5. Call upon the international community and Canada in particular to act immediately to stop these crimes.
6. Call upon the international community and Canada in particular to renew the call to the High Contracting Parties of the Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their responsibility under Article 1 of the Convention, to ensure that it is respected under all circumstances, and their responsibility under Article 146 to pursue persons suspected of perpetrating serious violations of the convention. We affirm that Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) violations are considered war crimes under Article 147 of the Convention and under its first protocol.

We ask MPs and other elected representatives to join the U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and international human rights groups who have warned that the blockade will cause a health catastrophe, will drastically affect hospitals, sewage treatment and water facilities and to condemn the Israel government actions and force it to lift these inhumane measures which defy basic humanitarian standards.

We, Jews of Conscience, demand that the U.S. government:

1. Require Israel to stop its brutal siege on Gaza and on Lebanon and call for an unconditional cease fire.
2. Require Israel to stop the expansion of the Israeli Wall of Separation, dismantle the completed sections, and completely withdraw from Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
3. Support the United Nations resolutions demanding that Israel uphold international law and support the sanctions against Israel necessary to enforce these resolutions.
4. End military and economic aid to Israel.
5. Support reparations for the Palestinian and Lebanese people for the death and destruction they have suffered and for aid towards the rebuilding of their countries.

We grew up in the Protestant Community thinking that "God's Chosen People" wouldn't do what they are doing now. There is no way that God is happy with them. I treat my cats better than the Israelis are treating the Palestinians! And I probably love them more...Sad...

Although the msm's bias on the situation is clearly an exercise in propaganda and lies it is merely one of the branches of Zionism. Zionists have entrenched themselves in major positions of power thru-out the developed nations of the globe. Their financial backing is limitless, and Israel is their jewel. Zionist professors mold minds in ivy league colleges. They are omni-present, their tentacles entwined is sooo many things. I don't know what to do other than choosing to not participate in their endevours, spreading the word of their evil machinations to any who will listen, and exersizing my 2nd amendment rights when the time is ripe.
