Having had quite a bit of time to think about the debate that occured in Ft. Lauderdale, I have come to a disappointing conclusion: Values Voters place very little value on the principles of Jesus, too much value on the Religious Right viewpoint. I had been excited about being able to attend--until I arrived. From the world-like format that did not allow the candidates enough time to explain their positions, to the rudeness of some of the attendees, the experience was discouraging, to say the least. The one bright spot in the whole debate was (for me -anyway) when Ron Paul gave what I saw as a bold prophetic warning concerning restricting the freedoms of others to support your own moral convictions,--and how , if you don't have power anymore, the same laws restricting other's freedoms will be used to remove yours. As a thinking Christian, I am sad to see the sorry state of the Church. No longer do we hold to the principles of Jesus, (do unto others as you would have them do unto you) but now we want to do to others before they do it to us. Ron Paul was (and is) the only candidate who lives out his faith. He deserves far more respect than he received.

I totally agree with you.

It seems the Evangelicals ignore Ron Paul because of his stance on the war. Whatever happened to "blessed are the peacemakers?"

They also don't care for his stand on some other things..

the war on drugs, and the issue of foreign aid to Israel. But the cabal that was kissing up to Huckabee really makes my blood boil. Huckabee was on the top ten list of Judicial Watch for corruption, and it was IGNORED by Janet Folger and crew! Ron Paul was the most principled Christian there, yet he was the most ridiculed. I think I know who would Jesus side with-Ron Paul!

Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone; and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.--John Quincy Adams
