BREAKING NEWS: Fed Would Be Shut Down If It Were Audited, Expert Says:
http://www.cnbc.com//id/31204170
The Latest from Ron Paul from 6/10 on Freedom Watch:
WRITE YOUR REPS HERE:
https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml
WHAT IS HR 1207 & WHY DO WE WANT TO AUDIT THE FED?
Great article from the Mises institute:
The Federal Reserve System is accountable to no one; it has no budget; it is subject to no audit; and no Congressional committee knows of, or can truly supervise, its operations. The Federal Reserve, virtually in total control of the nation's vital monetary system, is accountable to nobody -- and this strange situation, if acknowledged at all, is invariably trumpeted as a virtue.
Read it here: http://blog.mises.org/archives/010082.asp
A little more background:
In 1950 the law was changed to exempt the federal reserve from *any* auditing procedures. So, the Fed can use our tax dollars however they wish, without any obligation whatsoever to tell us what they're doing.
HR 1207 seeks to repeal that portion of the code, so when we ask questions, they HAVE to answer.
Why is this important?
As just one example, right now the fed is refusing to give a public accounting of the trillions in recent taxpayer backed loans. Just look at the 700 billion in TARP funds that congress appropriated and the Fed refused to talk about -- we now know a portion of it ended up going to bonuses for the AIG execs.
We deserve to know how our tax dollars are being spent, and allowing the Federal Reserve to remain out of control and shrouded in secrecy *clearly* allows for abuse.
HR 1207 is our chance to put an end to this.
So, what can you do to help? Go here and sign the petition to urge your congressman to co-sponsor the bill:

Awesome article and amazing videos. Its just that they need to how more activeness and transparency in their work. It should be like the Stunt bike and go ahead with full precautions in each and every of their treaties & obligations.
Rep. Brad Miller (D-NC) is on the House Financial Services committee and is particularly focused on mortgage lending issues.

I share your concerns regarding the need for transparency in our country's economic policy. Congress is expected to consider comprehensive legislation to reform our regulation of financial markets, and the role of the Federal Reserve in our economy will be an integral part of this debate. I will keep your concerns firmly in mind as I investigate this issue further.

please add gary ackerman from ny to callathon. a good number of ny reps are on board but my rep mr ackerman does not appear to be interested in financial transparency. maybe something going on with him. maybe he has some friends at the fed. who knows? but a little heat on the phone lines may make him change his mind.

I've contacted her several times via email and phone, all times I received condescending responses in regards to HR 1207.
That is great that you have been calling. Emails do not work. They just send back "thank you" responses.
I have been told that calling, writing, faxing are the best ways.
Don't give up. Get some friends over your house and have a fax, call, and letter writing party.
I am going to do that. They need to be barraged.
Also any group get together or organized demos. Ask everyone to bring their cells and call right from the meeting/demonstration.
Suggest visits to the Reps. home offices. Enough people go down and leave 100's of letters with the office staff, even if they aren't in it may help.
We are going to make it. We just need to keep going. The win is ours!!!!
Ive basically called, faxed and sent about a thousand email to Rep. Bob Filner, Democrat, 51st district of California, and the guy still hasn't co-sponsored the bill

Rep. Paul Brown of Georgia's 10th is already a co-sponsor, I've been told in the past that the offices of congress will redirect you back to your own congressman if you try to contact them. Is that true? What else can we do?
Shelly, let me know what I can do for You in Arkansas, I Do Belive that Americans Are under threat of loseing their civil libertys, fom food, to the right to bear arms, to the right of choice, choice is freedom and our government is taking away the right to choose, from ,cars to banks, to insurance, to healthcare, and trying to limit top pay for top talent. ..... again let me know If I can Help ,Going to A TEAPARTY on 6-11-09. I would appreciate any help with (i.e Arkansas reps/ senators) I have sent many letters on cifta, and only one was answered byM Pryor saying that it was in commitee and he would be sure to consider my input if it ever reachedthe floor for a vote. not only do i wonder if he is on that commitee. I wonder if he would even remember my name......I will try but I need ammo, Ric
So, when come to health you think insurance technology is not a tough choice?
My rep, Robert Brady, has still not responded after at least a dozen faxes and calls from both me and my wife. Absurd because I've actually received 5-6 email replies from other congressmen I've faxed about this and I dont even live in their district! Would welcome some help getting this guy on board.

I hand wrote a two page letter on loose leaf paper and mailed it to his DC office a couple of weeks ago (at least). He hasn't responded yet...
I wish congress had term limits
I have called Rep. Cuellar's office last week and yesterday in D.C. but his staff tells me he has not stated his position on this bill.

Call and urge him to SPONSOR HR 1207. And if the person on the other end of the phone tells you Clyburn is a Party Whip and does not usually sponsor bills, ask them what whipped him from standing up for We The People. Tell him there is a line in the sand and he must choose between the Global Elite Banksters and multinational Corporations and WE THE PEOPLE. Call him at his local offices AND in the District of Criminals.
