Kudos to the Constitution Party for overwhelmingly (3-1) defeating the proposed presidential candidacy of Alan Keyes at its recent national convention. Although Keyes holds to many constitutional positions domestically, he is a thoroughgoing interventionist in foreign policy and a cheerleader for the Iraq War.

Read James Antle's article: http://spectator.org/dsp_article.asp?art_id=13120

In a supreme gesture of bad taste, Keyes likened his failed bid to an abortion.

I am not certain that Ron

I am not certain that Ron Paul totally slammed the door on a third party run. He did say he was a Republican and preferred to run as a Republican but never totally closed the door. Latest remarks were about the difficult problem of covering the costs of getting on the ballots in all fifty states. He clearly has hopes of bringing the GOP back to its principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility but I see little hope for that. The CFR has totally taken over the GOP. I am still hoping for a miracle, the Paul supporters have been showing their mettle, but I am more than willing to vote Constitution Party if I don't write Ron Paul in. One thing is certain, I will never again support evil by voting for the "lesser of evils", not that I am sure which of the "big three" is the lesser evil.

I am sure Chuck would be

I am sure Chuck would be willing to do this, but I doubt Ron Paul would accept. Chuck is a huge supporter of Ron Paul. It would be great if Ron Paul decided to run as the Constitution Party candidate, but Ron Paul is a man of his word and he said he would not run as a third party candidate.

I heard today that Chuck

I heard today that Chuck might be willing to take the VP position and give his Presedential spot to Ron Paul? I personally have not researched the party but think it is my next logical step...

I agree. Chuck Baldwin

I agree. Chuck Baldwin adheres to the philosophies of the Constitution Party much more so than Alan Keyes. I have heard that Alan Keyes is actually not a member of the Constitution Party and was only going to join if he received the nomination. I do not know if this is true or not. Chuck Baldwin has been a member of the Constitution Party for quite some time and is a much better representative.

I had no idea Chuck was

I had no idea Chuck was running. That is very good news. I subscribe to his blog and have been reading his views for some time now. He makes a lot of sense out of religious extremists and putting them in their proper place.

I hope he does well in getting others involved in making a better choice for America.

I am just absolutely convinced that the best formula for giving us peace and preserving the American way of life is freedom, limited government, and minding our own business overseas.

I have listened to Keyes on

I have listened to Keyes on a few occasions, and liked what I heard. I am supremely happy with the nomination of Chuch Baldwin by the Constitution Party, though, as he has all of his ducks in a row on the freedom, prosperity, American sovereignty and non-foreign intervention issues. If Keyes thinks that the war on terror is a such a great idea, then he is missing half of the story on what is being done to American freedom in the name of that ridiculous war. Keyes is proving that he just doesn't get it. Baldwin gets it, and he also gets to be the nominee! I'm with Chuck!
