weather?

The weather tab on my profile page seems out of place and cluttery... no one is coming here for the weather, are they?

Hi dan! The weather tab on your profile page is intended to allow you to set your default location to pull weather info specific to your location. Once you set this, a 'Weather' block will show up on the home page.

Maybe we'll add some explanation so it makes more sense. Thanks!

Thanks Shelly, I understand what the weather thing is... I just think it seems out of place on this site.. you're not trying to compete with google and yahoo for a home page portal, are you? Digg and slashdot don't have weather :)

no offense... but the entire weather thing seems like noise... putting in your location might be a useful thing for linking people together or for targeting local news... but I've already got weather widgets coming out my ears.
