BTM has gotten a lot of criticism internally, it seems, which is good. I think most of us believes this site will turn into something great given time and refinement. Otherwise we wouldn't be here. So first off, great idea. The hardest part is getting it from paper to SOME usable form, which is where we're at now. Congratulations.

Next, while I was first browsing through the site, the first ad I noticed on the bottom was an ad for a candidate for the Senate. I understand the need to have advertisers to support the costs associated with the site, but, I think it's worth screening what advertisements get added to the pages. It seems a little unfair to advertise political candidates on an "unbiased" media platform.

Juts my .02 cents. I look forward to watching BTM grow and gain more features. Thank you for your time to develop such a great idea.

Rick, Thank you for your

Rick,

Thank you for your reply. I do understand the concepts of the advertisement feeds and I believe there are ways of limited what sort of content comes up. I look forward to seeing the long term ad agenda.

Another strategy, that I'm sure the powers around here have considered is this: I voted for Ron Paul and I'd say 80+% of the people on this site voted for him as well. In order to more closely approach 0 on the unbiased scale (there is no true unbias), I think you guys should advertise BTM in other circles to attract like minded individuals that may have other political views. That way a Hilliary supporter that may be on the fence doesn't see the site and see that it's just another "Ron Paul Site", know what I mean?

Thanks again and look forward to being a part of the site while it grows.

Re Footer Ads: We aren't

Re Footer Ads:
We aren't selecting the ads that appear on the beta website. These ads come from central locations that provide feeds (like Google Adsense) supposedly related to our content. So, not surprisingly, our site draws ads for political candidates and topics unaligned with us. When we have some time, we'll be considering the appropriate ad strategy to utilize over the longer term. For now though, we're still testing and the ads are just part of the testing process. Find amusement in the John McCain and Hillary for President ads-- I do. R
