You can block certain Google ads that appear on the site.

I know that this isn't a "Ron Paul" site, but one focused on:

1) End the overseas empire; and bring the troops home;
(2) End the Federal Reserve; break the debt money culture and the stranglehold of our bankers;
(3) Limit our federal government to its proper Constitutional framework; end the income tax (and so much more;
(4) Dismantle the police state; and free the American people.

I have been getting "Vote for McCain" ads here and I don't think his statements or actions go with the philosophy of this site, and the site should block ads here. Maybe have a thread for people to make suggestions on which ads are not appropriate here.

Bankrupt McCain Campaign. Click the McCain Ads & he pays Google!

...Don't worry, I'm sure you'll resist succumbing to their message. Unless of course you just started supporting Ron Paul because everyone around you did.

..But then we're all screwed anyway...

...And for the Google keyword-bots: I just think John McCain is spiffy! John McCain is great! I'm sure going to vote for John McCain (right after I screw a hornet's nest that was dropped on me by a flying pig)! John McCain is super duper (if you think bleached dog-turds are "super duper")! McCain wants to prohibit gun ownership! John McCain wants to prohibit free speech! John McCain wants to bomb your bank account (and Iraq!) Cindy McCain uses illegal opiates and gets caught for it, then pisses herself in submission to big brother police state created by her husband and gets off with a slap on the wrist! Cindy McCain should be in jail while her hubbie runs for big cheese! The McCains are both stupid evil douchebags with less understanding of property rights than Rush Limbaugh! Rush Limbaugh uses illegal opiates and gets caught for it, then pisses himself in submission to big brother police state created by his own radio show and gets off with a slap on the wrist! Bob Barr and Larry Craig have big problems with heterosexual marriage both got caught-up for violating it it, then pissed themselves in submission to the big brother police state created by their own damned legislation, but both got off with a slap on the wrist!

Let's get these idiots' political ads running 24-7!!!! Wooooooooooooo-Hooooooooo!

All Google Ads

Well, the political ads on this page are laughable, but I guess we're trying to give everyone the same freedom of speech they have so openly denied us. However, there are a bunch of Time Warner and Comcast Cable ads on the main page as well...if those companies are not going to be sponsoring BTM programming and compete with the independents, why should we allow their ads to clutter and confuse? I assume we're using Google ads to bring in money, however, how much money are they truly bringing in. I know this is a for-profit venture, but it'd be nice if our values and mission took precedence over that.

I am impressed with how well BTM has started off, though!! Congrats to everyone who's helping to make this happen!
God Bless!

I suppose that it simply is

I suppose that it simply is not occuring to anyone that puting the name "John McCain" in the topic title
and just about every post, is causing Google's AdSense technology to have a "John McClimax" everytime it's web crawler passes through here. If you don't want to see his ads, stop posting his name. and stay out of this topic thread because google has determined that people that continuously post the name "John McCain" must be interested getting links to more information about "John McCain". Get it? Everytime the name "McCain" is posted the odds of seeing one of his ads increases exponentially, So, in conclusion, stop posting John McCain's name in this anti John McCain topic. As a matter of fact, Shelly should configure the forums to display something like "RonPaul's adversary" everytime the name"John McCain" is used.

God bless,

I am beginning to sense a surge of "protectionism" coming forth. I just want to let everyone here know that I don't need to be protected from anyones message be it vulgar, political, socialistic, etc. I'll handle it and move on. In fact I'd rather see some ads for ideas that I don't support than be surrounded by a wall of idealogical mirrors echoing my own thoughts. If McCain wants to give this site money why not let him. I'll be able to withstand the influence.

Exactly- and in our very first email Rick stated to all that we will not choose sides politically, we will instead make sure all sides get a chance to speak without being ridiculed while doing it. We believe that the freedom message, given the chance to be heard, will over power and shine brighter than all the other messages offered by the other candidates. So why block them? Why stifle their attempts? Let them try and fail miserably. Their message offers a wonderful contrast to ours, and only helps bring definition to the principles held in our approach.

I agree, discretion is preferred for the benefit of our message. I'd like to follow the golden rule, do things in a dignified manor. I like to follow my own guidelines when looking to earn money. I don't believe in socialism so I would never take a job working for a socialist no matter what the payment was. Principles should be considered. Freedom is also the ability to choose what ads to support and what ads to not support, it is not censorship when it is a choice.

*snicker*

As I have said before, on this site and others, click the bloody hell out of the link and it opens in a new tab; close the tab, click the link; rinse and repeat as many times as you want to charge his campaign.

Most ads charge by the click-through so mark the b*stard up for more Federal Law breaking of the campaign financing rules he agreed to in November of '07 and based his loan in December on to stay alive in the run till Super Tuesday I.

Nail his arse by clicking the ad!

Is it my imagination or does

Is it my imagination or does John McCain look kinda hot in that ad? JK... I wonder if any unknowledgeable voter's will actually think that he's a thirty-something guy whose running for President, not realizing that photo was taken 40 years ago!!! Anyways, it did rub me the wrong way when I first came across it, not being a McCain supporter, but I also believe in a free form of media , which is the point of this site, so I'm not sure we should consider censoring what some may find unsuitable. I think we should have the freedom of choice to decide if we will patronize the advertisers or simply ignore them.

Ads are from a feed, and not selected by us. We haven't adopted an ad strategy for the site yet, but we will as the testing process moves forward. So for the time being, find amusement and enjoy the John McCain and Hillary for president ads-- I do. R

Well since the content of the site is political, most of the ads will be for the candidates. If they are blocked, we won't be left with much accept public service announcements, which do not pay.

A website owner is not allowed (per Google TOS) to suggest any behavior regarding the ads, such as "click on them please". But we the users can. So click away...

I would have to agree. A John McCain advertisement does not go with the philosophy of this site, but I do believe in freedom, so if the advertisers are willing to pay to have their adds posted, I guess it should not be blocked. I doubt it is going to influence any of us.
