In a puff of smoke

They ought to make a law...! You've all heard somone say that at least once - maybe even yourself. I think that the federal government ought to make a law against the "Munchies"! Anyone who imbibes in the various forms of cannabis has a tendency to get hungry, and the next thing you know, they're eating. They eat sweets which rot teeth and have an adverse effect on the digestive system leading undoubtedly to colon cancer which will have to be paid by Medicare or Medicaid which is a tremendous burden on the taxpayers which could be overcome by taxing cannabis - if only the government would regulate it first.

It's not the federal government's business to delve into people's social lives and make things illegal if they are relatively harmless and/or possibly beneficial for some people's health issues. Let's get real. CIA stands for Communism In America. The CIA is the largest illicit drug dealing agency in the world, and they don't want competition, regulation or taxation. What a conundrum!

Why sweets?

Marijuana stimulates the release of stored glycogen from the liver, which in turn causes the pancreas to secrete insulin and lower the blood glucose, leading to a craving for sweets. The only connection to colon cancer is the fact that excessive meat consumption - the leading cause of colon cancer - creates the need for marijuana, alcohol and sugar to loosen things up.

How do I know this? I had "terminal" colon cancer in 1974. I am also a former pot-head and drinker (not alcoholic, but enjoyed it immensely). I've not consumed five pounds of red meat since then, nor any pot, and very little alcohol or sugar. The craving for these substances vanished when I started avoiding meat.

I would guess that less than 1/10th of 1% of the US population is aware of the dynamics of the relationship between these substances.
