Interesting speech in congress on CFL light bulbs.

Personally I use these things in my house in some, but not all, applications. I use them because they reduce my electric bill. But I would like to have the right to not use there where I think they are inappropriate.

The thing that really

The thing that really disturbs me is that government always wants to use force. Why not just inform people that they can save money by using CFLs. Most people will voluntarily make the switch when they realize they can reduce their electric bills. But that's not good enough for government. They want to force you to use them. Why do they always have to be tyrants?

It drives me nuts that I can

It drives me nuts that I can no longer buy the good, bright, mercury vapor light bulbs for my yard light but they want to force us to use a mercury vapor fluorescent in the house. I keep thinking that legislation can't get any stupider and they keep proving me wrong.
