I was participating in the chat during Rick's broadcast commenting on the gathering in Washington D.C. and I made comments about the Constitutional roles of the House and the Senate and how the the repeal of the 17th Amendment would return the voice of the State's, in Congress, to the State's. there were no profanities it my statement. I was immediately banned from the chat by the moderators. It is widely acknowledged that both the 16th and 17th amendments were not legally ratified by the States. Why would I be removed from raising that issue? Is BTM not what it claims to be? I am requesting an explanation, please.

ADMIN NOTE: No one is being censored or banned (we don't even have BTM chat moderators) - we have an intermittent glitch in the chat. See the "KNOWN ISSUES" thread for updates. - Shelly

Is it possible...

That some one could have a "boot" code from outside of the site?

banned from chat??

I can't seem to figure out why I can't access the chat - it shows the screen for a split second, and then blanks out and says I've been removed from the chat? I have no idea why.. what's going on? Am I banned for some reason?

Hey - you definitely were NOT censored

The chat has some bugs and people get kicked out from time to time - completely random, and something we're working on. If you look at the known issues thread, you'll see what I mean.

We don't even have moderators in the BTM chat ;)

Thanks for detailing the issue

I hope you're able to get things squared away soon.

Article 1 Section 3 details how Senators will be appointed.

It explicitly states that they will be appointed by the State's Legislature. The 17th Amendment removes accountability of the Senators to the State Legislature, and makes them only accountable to the majority (>50%)

What we all need to understand is that 1913 was a ...

very bad year for our Republic. The 16th Amendment, which seeming enables an unapportined tax on individuals, was "ratified", the 17th Amendment which made Senators elected by popular vote, instead of by their State legislators as mandated by the Constitution, and the Federal Reserve Act, which hijacked our currency and gave all control of our government to a private banking cartel. Draw your own conclusions

Um...you already drew them for us.

Here's your explanation:

You must have thrown a punch below the belt, Sambo.

The only person I've seen banned from this site was some politician with a serious case of potty-mouth. Even really offensive, irritating people like Skinhead Tim (a.k.a. "awesomo5000") and raving atheists on the prowl for Christians, are welcomed on this site with open arms.

I'm sure you were not banned from the chat thread unless you've misrepresented the nature of your posts. And look: here you are, all un-banned and everything. Maybe it was something you ate?

RE the 16th Amendment: well-settled standing US Supreme Court rulings since 1914 hold that the Sixteenth conferred no new power of taxation; established no new category of tax; and does not authorise a tax on salaries. Thus, whether it was duly ratified is a moot question (a waste of a lot of people's time). Moreover, the Tax Honesty Movement already opened the gate for over 67 million non-filers so far; if you're still on the DC al Qaeda's April 15th hamster wheel (with your wife working to pay "your tax bill"), blame your own ignorance, (irrational) fear, or both. No amendment can help you.

RE the 17th Amendment, I agree with you. It's critical that it be repealed, since it was one of the key features of the checks-and-balances design of our system of federalism. That amendment was repugnant to the spirit, letter, and purpose of the original Constitution; it was a major contributor to the present mobocracy and pork-barrel.

I was participating in the BTM TV forum when I made my comments

about the 17th Amendment. I was immediately removed from the the forum, with no prior notification. I am still unable to participate in that forum. I made no offensive comments. I merely commented that the 16th and 17th Amendments were not, in fact, ratified by the states. I was immediately removed from the chat forum and am still unable to participate.

The 17th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution created the most exclusive club in the world, accountable to none but the tyranny of the majority. It was not ratified by the several State's and should be immediately repealed.

How could an amendment exist

if it weren't ratified?

If the Secretary of State stands up before a Congress ...

and says it is so, and no member of Congress refutes it, then it is so.

samjackson Posted by samjackson on Sat, 07/12/2008 - 22:09
You haven't expalined

how the 17th is illegal.
