Vote fraud

Ever since the advent of electronic voting machines I’ve been concerned about the possibility of vote fraud. When votes go into a computer with no paper trail it’s just too easy for the results to be manipulated. Today I happened to see the movie “Uncounted” which provides evidence that some of our elections have been rigged. So now I’m wondering if there is some way we can get an independent count of votes for candidates supported by BTM readers; Barr, Baldwin, Nader and McKinney. Of course we don’t have the ability to count the actual ballots, and in the case of electronic voting there aren’t even any ballots to count. But maybe there is some way of holding our own mock election and getting verifiable results that can be compared to the official tally.

I’m not sure how this could be done, but it seems like a worthwhile endeavor. It would have to be something which could prove that the voters were real people and in fact registered to vote in their precincts. And it would require a voting method which could be done by people who don’t have internet access as well as those who do. Does anyone else think it's a good idea? Also does anyone have any thoughts as to how it could be accomplished?
