Posted by Matt Sistrunk on Tue, 07/08/2008 - 03:40 in A. Sign the Petitions
First, a quick review: The Petitions for Redress of Grievances are NOT merely an exercise in free speech conveying statements of political discontent from the People.
First Amendment Petitions for Redress constitute formal, legal Notice to our Government that it has violated the Constitution by either trespassing outside the strictly limited authorities delegated it by the consent of the People or because it has otherwise infringed upon the fundamental Rights of the Sovereign People.
Petitions for Redress are LEGAL DEMANDS to cure Constitutional torts against the People. As a creation and servant of the People, the Government is obligated by the Rule of law, the Constitution, and Nature herself to yield and present substantive Redress.
The Right of the People to peacefully secure Redress through the exercise and enforcement of the Right of Petition is the Constitutional instrument by which the People enjoy, and orderly maintain, their Popular Sovereignty. This 800-year old Fundamental Right was first articulated in written law as Section 61 of the Magna Carta in 1215. It remains in force today as a cornerstone in the Rule of Law as the last ten words of the First Amendment.
The WTP Foundation has put forth (7) Petitions for Redress of Grievances. The subject violations include: the un-declared Iraq war, the unconstitutional, privately owned Federal Reserve and fiat "dollar"; the imposition of constitutionally prohibited direct, un-apportioned slave taxes upon American labor; the gross infringements upon the 4th Amendment Privacy and 5th Amendment Due Process Rights resulting from the "USA PATRIOT Act"; the President's failure to enforce the Immigration laws of the nation; the unconstitutional de facto adoption of the "North American Union"; and the unconstitutional infringements upon the 2nd Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms depriving the People the practical means, if necessary, to exercise their Right to Abolish their government and replace it with a new institution as they may deem necessary for their Safety & Happiness.
We need to send an unequivocal message to Washington: The People will no longer tolerate the insolence of our servant Government or tolerate its continuing and systemic deprivation of the People's Fundamental Rights. We will exercise all non-violent means to secure our Rights, including the Right to Retain our Money to secure Redress.
We need 1,000,000 Americans to sign
these Petitions before June 30. SIGN HERE
B. Serve the Petitions:
On June 30, 2008 hundreds of volunteers will formally serve the First Amendment Petitions for Redress of Grievances upon every member of Congress and the President at their LOCAL district and state offices.
The service, just as with the service of any legal document, will be sworn by affidavit and constitute formal, legal Notice upon the Government. The Petition package will explicitly advise each recipient that they have an individual constitutional obligation to respond and that they have forty (40) calendar days within which to respond. Failure of the Government to Respond will cause the commencement of the protest/enforcement phase of the Revolution project.
At the same on the same day, thousands of other volunteers will stream across the fifty states, serving the same Petitions for Redress of Grievance upon every District office of every Senator and Representative. These People will as well, document their service via sworn affidavit.
Well in advance of these events, volunteers will have an opportunity to sign-up online and commit to service of a particular local District office, or even multiple offices. We would like to have at least three (3) volunteers commit to for each local office.
Volunteers will also have an opportunity to obtain, at very modest cost, a June 30th "Service Package" including a CD-ROM containing printable, electronic versions of the Petitions along with images of the Petition signatures (both electronic and hand-signed). The package will also contain additional materials, including the process server affidavits that volunteers will need to sign and (timely) return to the WTP office and the official transmittal letter.
(NOTE: A secure online system to obtain the Service packages
with further instructions for serving the Petitions will be available soon.)
Well in advance of these events, volunteers will also have access to Press Kits and Press Releases for use in their local communities to provide advance notice to the press and other organizations regarding these events. (NOTE: materials will be available soon)
Where possible, volunteers will capture the Service events on video for the historical record and forward copies of such tapes to WTP for use in publicizing the Revolution initiative.

C. Federal Litigation: What do the last 10 words mean?
Despite a significant body of legal and historical documentation, the courts have been loathe to address the legal meaning of the last ten words of the First Amendment. In fact, in January, 2008 the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the first federal lawsuit -- ever -- that had explicitly raised this most important constitutional question.
A limited number of volunteer Plaintiffs are needed to initiate a federal lawsuit in each of the (11) separate Appellate Circuits. The purpose is to force the federal Judiciary, and particularly each of the U.S. Courts of Appeal, to provide a formal, direct declaration of the constitutional meaning of the First Amendment Petition clause.
The lawsuit is planned to be filed on July 11, 2008.
Because no federal court has yet to directly address the specific constitutional question raised, it is hoped that by raising the controversial issue in every Appellate Circuit, that the U.S. Supreme Court will finally be forced to address this most critical matter affecting the fundamental relationship between the People and their servant government.

D. Protests to Secure Redress
After being formally served the Petitions for Redress on June 30, each U.S. Government official will be under an express, individual Constitutional duty to provide Redress to the Petitioners within (40) forty calendar days.
Just as with Magna Carta of 1215, failure on the part of the Government to timely provide such Redress will of necessity, force the People to then initiate a series of high-profile protest events intended to (peacefully) force the Government into compliance.
Should the Government fail to provide timely, substantive Redress by Friday August 8th, Bob Schulz will on Monday August 11th, initiate a hunger strike to secure Redress.
This important full-time protest event will occur on the National Mall, halfway between the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol. The event has been tentatively identified as "Hungering for Redress."
WTP Congress has applied for the permits necessary to support this event for its currently planned six-week duration.
The permits allow 24/7 occupation of the entire venue, with certain restrictions. The overall vision is to erect temporary tents and educational kiosks on the Mall, with hunger-strike protesters coming from every state to join in the non-stop protest, committing to whatever duration of time each person deems personally appropriate for their circumstances.
Current plans include provisioning the tents, fresh water and sanitary facilities on-site, as well as numerous staged events, including limited entertainment during the duration of the hunger protest. Plans are also being considered for live satellite Internet broadcasts from the protest events.
Additional details of the "Hungering for Redress" DC event are being developed and will be released shortly. Plans for local events across the nation are also being developed.
If you're reading this page, you probably know the score by now.
Unfortunately, you also know most of America is still asleep.
Our Liberty and our Constitution hang by a thread. It's not too early to begin considering what you are personally willing to sacrifice to ensure that Light of Liberty will not be extinguished.
Will you personally commit to the battle for Liberty?
Will you help shoulder the financial burden?
Will you volunteer to Serve the Petitions?
Will you volunteer to be a Plaintiff in one of the 11 "Circuit Lawsuits?"
Will you engage your time and resources to educate America?
Will you participate in and help organize local protest events?
Will you disrupt your life, and the lives of your family, to come to Washington?
Will you stand with Bob Schulz, even for a limited time, in "Hungering for Redress?"
What price Liberty?
We Need Your Commitment.
We Need Your Support.
Liberty has never been free and Power has never voluntarily relinquished its position.
To succeed we must come together.
The battle is not for property rights alone, or gun rights alone, or the Federal Reserve alone, or uncontrolled immigration alone -- or any other Freedom issue.
The battle is against tyrants in our Government that would deprive our People of their Liberty -- no matter its manifest form. This is our common enemy.
The time has come to temporarily suspend our complete allegiance to fighting for specific, individual causes. The time has come to temporarily suspend our complete allegiance to specific, individual organizations.
We must gather together, join together, and commit together to fighting our common enemy, using the profound weapon in the Law that forces the servant Government to be held accountable for any - and all - transgressions against the Constitution: The Right to Petition the government for Redress of Grievances.
"No Redress. NO TAXES."
It's pretty simple and it can work.
Indeed, it must work -- or a grave fate awaits both our Republic and Liberty itself.
To counter the institutionalized inertia of tyranny currently plaguing our Republic, we need to mount an aggressive, national-scale public relations and citizen education program. This effort will take many forms including print, Internet radio, and television/cable advertising. Here is a sample full page ad we could run in USA TODAY.
We cannot hope to mobilize the population to rise in defiance of the tyrants if the masses remain ignorant of our shared plight.
We also need to finance, in advance, the significant logistical costs (vendors, equipment, staging, technology, travel, etc.) required to prepare for and execute the multiple staged events that constitute the physical elements of this project.
As is self-evident, such a bold undertaking requires not only that many make a personal commitment to participate, but it also requires that many make a personal commitment to share the burden of raising the substantial financial resources that will be consumed as part of this most important project.
Quite frankly, this initiative requires multitudes of individuals to make a personal commitment to a common cause that, until now, has never been unachieved by any single non-political freedom organization.
For us to succeed in our quest to restore Constitutional Order, we must join in defense against our common enemy and commit, in union, to exercising, and enforcing -- en masse -- the one tool bequeathed to us by our Founders to non-violently contain despots: The Right to Petition.
With that said, the WTP Congress has done everything possible to enable those of even the most humble of means to help fund this cause.
The very good news is that with many making even modest contributions, large amounts of funding can be raised relatively quickly. The recent fund raising efforts of Presidential candidate Ron Paul are concrete evidence that millions of dollars can be raised, literally overnight.
The truth is simple: The more money we raise, the more hell we can raise.
The quicker we do it, the better.
$7/month Congress Memberships
Key to our project financing plan is our new $7/month "subscription" Congress Membership.
After signing up through our secure/encrypted on-line system, your credit card is charged just $7 on the day of initial processing, plus $7 each time your personally selected calendar date of the month occurs each month. For those that can support us at a higher level, $25/month Patriot Memberships and $50/month Son-of-Liberty Memberships are also available.
The punch line: If just 50,000 People committed to just a modest $7/month level of support, this project could secure over $1 million funding in just 90 days. That's not a bad start.
Then consider this: In the 1st three months of 2008 alone, Ron Paul had approximately 60,000 individual donations totaling almost $7 million, averaging almost $90 per donation. If only a fraction of those same Freedom lovers were to donate only a fraction of the amounts they donated to the Paul political campaign, this critical Liberty project could secure funding of millions of dollars before the summer protest events are scheduled to commence.
If we can roust up even more interest from the general public, only the sky is the limit for manifesting the potential impact this project could have upon our nation.
Quite frankly, it's what we need if we are to succeed.
Here's what you need to do: Join the Congress and donate some more when you can. Yahoo! & Verizon warning
However much you can help.
Whenever you can help.
Each and every person who values Liberty must now step forward. The battle is upon us.

for all of the BTMers... even the trolls. And heck, I have even taken a shining to Scott from Oregon's and awesomo5000's posts... I got no beef with anyone. I would just really hope dmzuniga isn't so harshly dismissive of anyone with whom he's trying to sway to his side -- considering he and I purport to be on the same side of most things. ;-)
when you were a littlun, GammaDelta5K. I do have a caustic manner, because I'm frankly pretty tired of repeating plain facts to dense adults, which I've done for about a decade. I'm sure I'm a good deal older than you; you'll see what I mean later on in life.
When you're doing something that will hurt you, your mommy spanks you. Bob Schulz is a very nice guy, and I like him; like I said, you can ask him if I haven't been ragging him for years about the ethical lapses in his "We The People" program. Collecting hundreds of thousands per year in "tax exempt" donations while calling the IRS scam what it is, has to be the consummate hypocrisy. Furthermore, going hat-in-hand to the federal government (courts or legislature) for 'redress' is both naive (a fox will never reform for chickens) and tactically disastrous (it spends precious citizen energy and goodwill, and turns people into cynics).
So you see that I am harsh precisely because I love you, my dear. Ideas have consequences.

There are more pressing issues that entertaining ourselves with discussions about the police and stop signs.
Here we have a wonderful opportunity to educate people on the first amendment and on the main causes of grievance. Would you really rather participate on a sophomoric discussion about the role of government in our life, or would you rather participate in a discussion about actions that will shape the government's actual role?
Borisimo
Sorry Matt (and Boris), but the Petition for Redress of Grievances is idiotic. It will gain nothing.
I have known Bob Schulz for many years; said these things to my good friend's face, so I don't feel badly repeating them here.
Let me also admit: I signed the petition myself. I was a dummy back then; hadn't thought it through. Bob loves suing government; he has filed (and won) a boatload of lawsuits against city, county, and state government for all kinds of stuff. Bob likes lawsuits, and Bob is a very articulate statesman. Bob is also either very dense when it comes to tactical wisdom, or else just likes presiding over a political group with a big annual budget, and throwing cool shindigs all the time.
In the first place, the courts are definitely NOT the place to fight this battle because the federal courts have been party to crimes against our Constitution since time out of mind. As Thomas Jefferson said in the 1799 Kentucky Resolution, We the People and our sovereign States are the proper adjudicators of violations of the US Constitution when the federal power is the violator.
The most effective way to stop the criminals is to immediately de-fund them. Bob has that step right; but then he wants to "sue for a hearing" (redress of grievances) I suppose so that the name of Bob Schulz can go down in history? It sure won't do much else, even if the foxes give the chickens a hearing, viz:
Worst case scenario: federal courts rule against the chickens...as they already ruled. But like so many political non-profit PACs, Bob can't give up. He'll lose his gig.
So now best case scenario: under the First Amendment, the federal courts could force the Congress to 'redress' the grievances. The government holds a hearing, and then with cameras rolling the corrpt politicos say, "OK, we heard your grievances. But we need those $3 trillion, so keep paying YOUR taxes. We'll do what we can; next year, we'll convene a blue-ribbon panel."
But the biggest irony of all? Bob Schulz's operation is fighting the illegal, immoral IRS scheme...while itself beinga 501c3 "tax exempt" operation, asking people to support it with cash...to get a tax write-off!
OK, maybe not irony. Maybe hypocrisy. But my point is that the puppy won't hunt. Once you're a law-abiding Nontaxpayer, you're already on the winning side of American history.
Yes...without lawsuits.
However, i think it is a little unrealistic. The courts upheld the validity of 90
% of the rationales given for restricting guns. The case has ALREADY been sighted twice to support laws that restrict the 2nd amendment...it has been only a couple weeks!
They have free reign to define us all with a"mental illness" if we have had ADHD or ever taken prozac or have ever been heard talking about the constitution or big brother(paranoia). I am happy to help with many attacks on the state...and I may be wrong...but the thing that has got me the most excited is building issue specific alliances that were previously too difficult to coordinate before the cost of communication and monetary donations had dropped to current internet enabled lows....Now we have the potential to overcome the alliances in favor of sugar tariffs...before it was a problem due to the very strong interests of a small group and the small costs tot eh rest of us...with these new alliances now possible it could amount to a revolution.
On writing an article on how the Supreme Court's decision on guns upheld the validity of 90% of the rationales given for restricting guns. Or pointing us to some articles.
Do you think there was a better option to reclaim the 2nd amendment? Would we be better off without pursuing that lawsuit?
Thanks,
Borisimo
On April 15th I went to the West Lawn of the Capitol to participate in Granny Warrior and Joel's Freedom Festival. About 200O people showed up from all over the country. They represented rich, poor, hispanic, anglos, old and young. They had much in common though... most were very humble but knew clearly that the fight for liberty is worthwhile and winnable. That is why they took the time to travel to DC on a Tuesday afternoon.
There are giants amongst us, giants who fight for the constitution in small and big ways. Giants who look just like you and I, humble people who are ready to lay down their life's and fortune to defend the Republic. Most of them remain silent and work alone or from the internet, people who take the time to learn about the petitions, sign them, deliver them.
We don't know how we will Restore the Republic, but I do know that I won't knock anyone trying. You and I have one advantage... the ants -the sleeping people who don't realize there is a fight for the soul of the Republic- don't see those giants coming.
Borisimo
Wait, wait, wait... dmzuniga
You're statements operate on the premise that We The People somehow delegate our roles and responsibilities to allow for some court to decide whether our Congressmen respond or not.
I look at it a little different and here's why.
1) The petition for redress of grievances isn't addressed to judges (as if to seek permission to ask the questions). The petition is addressed directly to the congressmen demanding a response to specific grievances as is protected by our First Amendment. The respond or they don't.
2) The petition specifies a precise timeframe by which a response should be received (40 days - or August 8th).
3) The petition addresses taxation as just one facet of response from We The People should response not be received. Lest we not forget that our American Revolution began with a petition for redress of grievances against Britain's king.
By bringing attention and awareness to this kind of action, it is one tiny role of the overall grassroots campaign of bringing the corruption of our government entity to light. I don't think any of us signed and delivered the petitions expecting a full-on investigation of government corruption by a third-party agency... It's about public education and awareness... Just like your Glasnost site.
If we stand up and say "Our government is corrupt" but we take no actions to prove our stance, then we are branded "kooks". Just like if you say "You are a non taxpayer" and you don't substantiate that claim, you are branded a "kook" in the collective lemming brain. How do we shed the "kook" label? We have to educate from every angle.
We all take our actions to educate and bring awareness to liberty, and I don't think it's fair for you to be so dismissive of any single portion of our entire fight for freedom. That's disingenuous to the cause...
or haven't processed it yet, brother.
Distinguo, frater meum.
At this point in our history, We the People do not ask things of a band of demonstrably corrupt legislators; nor do we ask things of a demonstrably corrupt federal court system. This is why I invoked Jefferson's 1799 Kentucky Resolution.
Here...go Google it right now. Read it; not a long piece at all. It's Tom Jefferson at his best.
Am I besmirching political action or rah-rah marches? Nope; march all you like. Carry posters, send singed petitions with 125,000 signatures. Write your congressman long, empassioned letters. Go before the corrupt federal courts as Bob Schulz is doing, hat in hand, to 'petition' the fox. Am I stopping you? No, I'm just laughing at you. You need to be laughed at just now, so you'll maybe consider your tactical foolishness.
Do all the petitions and remonstrances and public speeches you want to do; just don't expect that political jalopy to deliver you from the road to Hell. The D.C. al Qaeda is several generations entrenched on a path of corruption, and it is funded with a $3 trillion per year revenue stream. Put it in perspective to see what you're facing with your petition-driven political tactics: $3,000,000,000,000 annually? The DC al Qaeda is the cash-corrupting equivalent of 10,800 major drug cartels (using DEA's measuring stick) all operating inside the DC Beltway...and using YOUR paychecks to do this number on you in the 'fair share' line, every week.
If you think protests and petitions will stop that feckless freight train, hey: knock yourself out! As for me and an estimated 67 million other Americans, we've cut off their funding. We've turned off the mainstream media (almost ALL political media) because we finally realise it's 95% theatre. It's a waste of bile acid, blood pressure, and family time.
Sorry to be so tough, but you need to wake up TACTICALLY. This isn't about "income taxes" or the IRS boogeyman; it's about fighting smart -- and legally, and morally -- against the enemies of our Constitution. The Tax Honesty movement is the tactical tip of the spear. We're not shaking our fists across the valley at the huge Leviathan army entrenched in its massive fortress anymore. Instead, we've cut off the water line leading to the fortress. Sooner or later, the huge, powerful enemy is going to get thirsty. Then let them come and beg redress of US!
That's how our forefathers fought the most powerful empire on earth, and won. And THAT is how 67 million of us are fighting the DC al Qaeda. And winning.
Ask any of my family if they are worried that the manifestly corrupt US Congress will not listen to any grievance they might present to those scoundrels. My family would laugh at the notion, as our founders laughed at the notion of continued futile begging, hat-in-hand, to George III and the British Parliament. There was a time to petition and talk, and a time to cut off the money and become self-governing, law-abiding Americans.
Our forefathers didn't march, make posters, or go hat in hand to proven criminals. If you are worthy of them, neither should you.

No, I've read it and processed it. In fact, I have begun taking the steps you've outlined in an effort to become 67,000,001... The fact is, as you know, this takes time, and in the mean time, there's nothing wrong with multi-faceted approaches.
If you told the "average Joe" that he is a legal nontaxpayer and he chose not to investigate and do the work to establish his identity as such, then he'll merrily go along in life, paying taxes - bitching the whole way to the post office on April 15th. We've all done it. The fact is, as you state over and over again, it's a mental disorder, in that we've all been brainwashed to believe we were required by law to pay taxes ever since we washed our first car, scooped our first DQ Blizzard (yummy), or flipped our first burger. If you told him that and then pointed him to your website, and he did the work, then you have a believer.
By the same respect, if I stood up and said Congressman [insert name here] has a record of voting unconstitutionally and supports unconstitutional measures and I offer no proof, then really... what have I done? Nothing, except cause his supporters to stand in defense that much more of "his guy". He may not understand or agree with "his guy's" idealogy -- instead voting on name recognition, but he's OK with that (How else could you possibly explain Strom Thurmond's and Fritz Holling's runs in congress?)
Just like your Glasnost site is designed to educate, this petition for redress educates... It gives credibility to the claims of unconstitutionality and is ONE APPROACH in the multi-pronged attack on those who work so hard at forcing a dependent nation to giving up their personal freedoms and liberties.
I'm OK with multi-tasking...
Zuniga,
We the People Foundation is taking the fight directly to the Federal powers. He is not stepping back and he is using the Constitution to fight them.
If I understand you right, there is no point to fight through the methods the constitution give us. According to you our only chance is to stop paying taxes and wait for the feds to knock at our door with their armored vehicles.
Well, a lot of people who help WTP do just that, but also, they help Bob bring the fight to where it counts, the federal courts!
Over SEVENTY THOUSAND people support We the People Foundation, and together we will make a difference. We will fight them in court in hopes that it never has to come to spilling brother's blood on the street.
In my mind, no one has the right to fight a single bullet, if he has not exhausted every other method. First we have a lot of people to educate, and WTP is also a method of educating the feds, the politicians and people in general.
I will fight alongside Bob Schultz without my brother's blood being spilled; my job now is to educate my brother and exhaust all options.
Borisimo
"Over SEVENTY THOUSAND people support We the People..."
OK, and over SIXTY SEVEN MILLION Americans are now non-filers, fighting the Congress' IRS scam, the largest financial fraud in human history, by STARVING IT OUT.
Bloodshed? You've been reading too many conspiracy theory sites, Boris.
Plus, either your reading comprehension is abysmal, or you're just trying to muddy the waters by so mischaracterising what I just said. You insinuate some very bad things about me, too; I expect either evidence, or a retraction, Boris, of your allegation that I am breaking laws or inviting "bloodshed".
I'm a law-abiding professional engineer with a reputation to maintain. If I'm doing something that is worthy of "blood" (or inciting anyone else to break laws...or even bend them), then I demand that you give some citations of law, Boris. Otherwise, please retract your silly statement.
Look, I was on Bob Schulz's circus wagon five years ago. I know Bob personally (just ask him) and have spent time with him here in Texas, and in Washington. I am not talking through my hat. He'll tell you that I've accused him of being a hard-head; he has been told by various people that suing the government (asking the federal courts to intervene) for redress under the First Amendment might be a great attention-getter, but will do nothing. It's politics, plain and simple. It's a gig for Bob.
Think about it practically, Boris: legally acceptable "redress" can consist of one simple congressional hearing. After that, Bob's "liberty convoy" is out of gas and it's back to business as usual.
I don't mean to sound like a cruel know-it-all, but after a decade ors of political fracas, you just get tired of wasted effort, you know? I hate to see thousands of people waste time on stupid stuff, even if it sounds nice and is fun to do. If you want to convoy to DC al Qaeda's base of operations and pray to them, be my guest.
We 67 million non-filers have cut them off, instead. And as for me and all the other law-abiding Nontaxpayers, we have cut them off 100% LEGALLY.
"Bloodshed", Boris? Armored vehicles!!!? Why do you make such stupid caricatures of the IRS...to further frighten the lily-livered Taxpayer? I stopped filing in 1998, and have written the IRS dozens and dozens of very strongly worded letters since then. They have written letters back, and sent me many a hopeful invoice (like vinyl siding salesmen) but they haven't taken one cent from me, or harmed a hair on my head. Nor can they, unless I violate tax laws, which I will not do.
My copy of the 2006 Thompson/RIA Tax Code stands here on my bookshelf, ready whenever you are. Want to tell me where this "bloodshed" is going to come from, Boris, by citing an IRC section? Go ahead; read the Code.
Oh...and while you're having delusions of bloodshed and armored vehicles (Lord, you Ron Paulites are a riot!) please read Tax Code Section 7608. Gee, Boris! Notice how the only IRS or Treasury employees authorised to carry firearms are those engaged in alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or explosives taxation issues?
You're not in Russia anymore, Boris; here in America, any other IRS employees showing a loaded weapon in the office or home of an American citizen, or even in a parking lot or a shopping mall -- are committing a federal firearms violation just as much as any other person packing heat in public would be doing, Boris!
Get the boogeymen out of your belfry, Boris, before you "fight alongside Bob Schulz" in his make-believe war.

ask where you get your sixty seven million number from? and the proof that these non filers do so because they are"fighting the Congress' IRS scam". Just curious since I've seen you mention it about 50 times as fact yet have given no supporting evidence.. Thanks
I've actually heard the IRS say that, although they obviously do not interpret it as "legal."

I am trying to get to is why do this number of people not file? 67 million out of how many working age people? How many work for cash? how many are just college kids trying to make a few bucks and just don't bother... what about retirees that make a small income, what about people who just don't work and live off their parents? .. I am certain that there is only a small portion that are actual "income tax protesters".
I would like to see a breakdown as opposed to a viewpoint that is written to somehow support an agenda.
When people stop paying taxes we get situations like that of the Browns, and that almost ended in bloodshed. So, doesn't not paying taxes end on bloodshed many times?
Having said that...
Hyperbolic writing aside, having exchanges of ideas with you and people like you is why I'm here. The opinion of someone like you who is actually actively opposing the unconstitutional tax law is invaluable.
Thank you for taking the time to debate and write about this very important subject. Now that I know a bit more about how committed to liberty you are, I look forward to reading your comments in all subjects.
:0)THANKS AGAIN!
Boris
Man, you had me worried, Boris. You're very welcome, of course; but please, please before spreading urban legends about "bloodshed" with the IRS, try to do your research, OK?
I know you're a great guy (I've read many good posts by you) but you appear to be a bit more...um...passionate than informed on some of these subjects. Passion is a wonderful trait, and a great deal more good than lethargy at this point in the game. But please know what you're talking about; the Ron Paul brigade is already branded as about 50% tin-foil as it is. Please don't make it worse!
The Internal Revenue Service is an administrative NOT A JUDICIAL agency of federal government with only the very most limited 'law enforcement' functions. I mentioned Sec 7608 of the Tax Code; if you aren't involved in making or selling alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or explosives and you ever see an employye or agent of the Dept of Treasury or IRS show you his firearm, I suggest you call your local sheriff IMMEDIATELY.
Back to the point: please consider the value of your time, and the attention-span of the American public, before tooting the horn so loud for the "Petition for Redress of Grievances". It does no good to beg for help from the one who has his boot on your neck.
I spent many years wading through silver-bullet theories and legal hogwash, to distill what I have on my American Glasnost website introducing Tax Honesty. About once per month (sometimes less often than that) I get a challenge from some huffing, puffing tax attorney, CPA, tax preparer or "Reformed Christian" telling me that I should "render unto Caesar". On each such occasion, I invite the person to debate me on the law and we can only use the Tax Code, the Supreme Court and lower federal court rulings, the Federal Regulations and Internal Revenue Manual, and actual verdicts passed down by American juries in income tax cases. Guess what? So far, exactly 100% of those "challengers" has slinked away quietly, never to be heard from again.
You talk about "the Browns" -- ONE non-filer out of 67 million! -- and "almost ended in bloodshed". Baloney! Look at IRS Commissioner Everson's report for 2005 on the IRS website: they chased after EIGHT TIMES MORE filers than non-filers, Boris. There are about two filers for every American non-filer, so that means there are FOUR filers nabbed by the DC al Qaeda, for every Ed Brown they nabbed!
Here, let me repeat the simple lesson, Boris: FOUR TIMES more statistical chance of "IRS bloodshed" if you are a filer, than if you are a non-filer!!
Got it? That's from the IRS itself; go look it up.
I'm not suggesting that you should leave the Taxpayer terror-victim line just because you go to jail four times more often than Nontaxpayers do. I'm suggesting you should stop funding state-sponsored terrorists and the corrupt mafia in Congress that enable them just so they can keep that $3,000,000,000,000 coming in every year!
Not one single person who calls themselves a friend of the Constitution should remain in the "fair share" line, supporting corruption and fraudulent, lawless tax collection unless they engage in a taxable activity or belong to a taxable category of individual SPECIFICALLY CALLED OUT IN THE TAX CODE.
The standing rulings on this matter by the US Supreme Court DEMAND this; it's not my demand. But speaking of demands: for eight years, IRS evaded every demand I sent them by certified mail. (If you email me, I'll send you copies of their "our dog ate my homework; we'll get back to you" non-responsive evasions. But after I finally sent them a long, heavily-documented letter [posted in the "IRS success stories!!" thread on this forum], the IRS finally got the picture and has left me alone. They know I have the goods on them, and I will show all that clear, unambiguous law and rulings to any jury that they might choose to let me show it to...and then they will have twelve more Nontaxpayers to try to shake down!
The IRS decided to go after Ed Brown because Mr. Brown had some very 'colorful' conspiracy theories mixed in with a few facts, and Ed Brown also happened to live in a paranoid haven (a rural, bulletproof compound) designed around his loopy ideas. Sorry; I'm sure Ed is a lovely, nice man...but he made a great "trophy" for the 2007 Tax Terror Season just as Wesley Snipes made a great trophy for this season.
But you miss the point of the sheer numbers, Boris. Like a little deer in al Qaeda's headlights, you are so afraid of their little public theatre that you forget there are four times more filers hauled into prison every year than non-filers. You think maybe the guys with the little black vulture letterhead will come crash your door down tomorrow if you don't pay their demands, Boris.
Be honest: you are terrorised by the IRS, just as most of your fellow Taxpayers are. No entity in America is more feared by those under its spell, than the IRS. But you see, not all Americans are under its spell anymore, Boris. That's why the crooks in Congress have their "Fair Tax" neutron bomb waiting in the silo, ready to fly. I have news for them: that won't work, either. We're going to start putting them in prison before they can pull that one on us.
Remember, Boris: this really is a free country. Here in Texas, I and my family live in more liberty than any people in human history have ever done in a civilised, populated place. That liberty is not free, and is definitely NOT available to the chicken-heart, or to the toad-brain.
But it IS available to you. So get to work!

I am proud to say that I delivered 3 packages on June 30th. My Congressmen actually maintain remote district offices in my city and their main district offices are in their respective hometowns, so I delivered to the receptionists at the respective remote offices, but... nonetheless, I met no resistence, and each of the receptionists were more than kind in accepting the petitions and letters when I delivered them.
For the record, I delivered to the remote district offices (in Columbia and West Columbia) of Senator Lindsay Graham, Senator Jim DeMint, and Congressman Joe Wilson -- all from the great state of South Carolina.
I also brought my 13 year old son and my 11 year old son so they can appreciate the historical significance of participating in an organized event of raising awareness of and forcing the accountability of our elected officials. They didn't get to meet the Congressmen so in that respect it was pretty uneventful, but we had a great time discussing civics nonetheless...
Liberty will be carried home in the shoulders of people like you!

I am but one man...
Ironically, I was ridiculed by my own wife for "doing something that doesn't mean anything to anyone since the Congressmen won't respond anyhow", to which I reminded her of that one unknown man who stood out on a dark night and fired the "shot heard round the world" at the invading Red Coats proclaiming that he will not go down without a fight. She also seemed genuinely surprised that I was not arrested and attributed it to the fact that I had my children with me... Tsk, tsk.
I guess she forgot about that well known, but oft forgotten fact that this country's revolt against Britain was initiated because of a tyrannical king's lack of response (or beligerent response) to our statesmen's petition for redress of grievances as defined by our own Declaration of Independence... Oh yeah, there's that little phrase in our Constitution's first amendment that guarantees our right to petition our government for a redress of grievances right alongside of protecting our right to free speech and religion... It wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed by pulling out my pocket copy of the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence.
Sorry, bro...your wife is (so far) exhibiting more discernment than you are. (Mine has done that for me a great many times.)
Want to have some serious 'civics' fun with your kids? Next 4th of July in the hometown of your US Congressman, you and a handful of your fellow citizens hold an America Again! rally. Just have the older kids in the group take turns -- like Johnny Tremain! -- reading sections of the America Again! Declaration.
Even if your member of Congress refuses to show up (trust me, (s)he'll never show his/her face for a public reading of his/her ongoing crimes against the Constitution) you will begin to show your children what TRUE civics is in America, where self-governing citizens enforce the Law of the Land that we instituted to forge our central government and LIMIT its powers.
Hey, you never know...your kids might get to help put a DC criminal in the State Penitentiary, under the fraud and racketeering laws of your State, to enforce the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution for the first time in history!
Pretty cool, right? And if by the grace of God you grow the cojones to bring the criminal home to face the music instead of taking your kids to worship him in DC, your wife will be prouder, too.
(Kinda tough, huh! But I'm just one man, withal. Nay, and just one man among many swooning girly-men in caravans using fake internet names and worshipping in the D.C. pantheon with their children! Thus, alas, I must be a meanie in this grisly war for the eternal future of our Great Republic!! The blood is flowing in the streets and we must be STRONG girly-men!!!)

As apparently you too have forgotten about why our forefathers revolted... Look, you go and do what you have to do... whatever it is that bolsters your ego and makes you feel proud to be an American, or whatever... and I'll do what I do. I think a simple "this isn't for me" would have sufficed from you rather than you taking time out of your busy life to write a retort that takes aim at my American pride. I'll thank you to just leave it at that.
I was going to compliment you on your Glasnost blog, but I'm pretty sure you do a fine job of praising your self enough to feed the ego of every member of your family, so I'll save it for someone who can appreciate the importance of humility...
Brother.... don't take it so harshly... we are discussing things here to which it could take us forever to reach the point if we were to discuss it "politely" and "pretty" I see your point, and I see his Zuniga's point... and I'm the wiser for reading both your arguments.
Both of you are very principled people and your arguments are very interesting as they can help us all refine our philosophical points. I would hate to see you guys beating about the bush with each other. I would love to read Tom's and Ken's opinion and see on whose side they fall.

THE EASY WAY TO SAVE THE CONSTITUTION IS THROUGH THE COURTS. We just witnessed the supreme court siding on the side of the second amendment. We saved the second amendment with lawyers and through activism and the court, NOT WITH VOTES.
We whipped up feverish support for Dr. Paul's candidacy and the most we got about 8% of the conservative vote. We must continue doing it, but we must also support direct action against unconstitutional laws and actions by the government and its agencies.
I consider this the most important work for freedom at the moment and the one with the most widespread support from activists.
Almost seventy thousand people have signed the petition, have you???
Please go to the page for We The People Foundation and read what they are all about.

I try to tell people every chance I get that the courts are our most powerful tool. It is the one thing we can all effect on an immediate basis whenever we are called to do jury duty. This is vitally important.
And the best way I have found to spread the message is by using something called the Citizens Rule Book. It can be found on-line here: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/7006/rulebook.html
I purchase hard copies of it through that site. There is information about how to do that at the bottom then hand those out to people. They are very handy.
They not only contain both the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, but lots of other helpful information about our rights and duties as citizens of a free country. They slip right into a shirt pocket and you can always have the most important documents we have with you.

Thanks Borisimo,
I've been a member of GiveMeLiberty.org/ and the Bob Schulz movement for years and have
contributed when I can!
I did vote (again) We need to keep this "Redress of Grieviences" Alive!
Thanks

I agree with you and I am happy to see the recent Supreme Court ruling.. Many opinion pieces have been written about that decision believe that Scalia's comments leave many openings for all kinds of regulation.
A victory in a sense, but hardly the proper translation of "shall not be infringed"
But your grasp of American civics and history is poor, my friend. Our system of self-government was never designed to be usurped by judges. I recommend the book Dethroning The Imperial Judiciary by constitutional scholar and attorney Edwin Vieira, Jr.
Moreover, "the easiest way" is seldom best. We took 150 years to get into this mess; beginning with Lincolns federal dragoons laying waste to entire American cities, towns, farms, and countryside to prove that Washington DC was now The Power to be dealt with, rather than We the People through our Sovereign States, as the founders intended.
There is no easy way out of this mess; every efficacious road out is going to be uphill. Bob Schulz's caravans and marches will do exactly ZERO for the structural rebuilding that must take place soon or late. I developed the America Again! project precisely as an alternative to impotent marches, rallies, and petitions. The America Again! project:
1) is logistically simple; can be launched in any city or town by just a handful of citizens;
2) is lawful and orderly;
3) is 100% in line with the Constitution;
4) negates the power of PACs, political machines, and the MSM;
5) empowers regular folks, even interested teenagers;
6) is the first meaningful attempt in American history to ENFORCE the Constitution;
7) vests jurisdiction in the courts of the Sovereign States, as Jefferson said must be the case when the federal gov't in all branches are in high rebellion against the Constitution simultaneously;
8) is defensible from primary-source documentation (writings of the framers);
9) will decentralise power to 535 towns and cities, from the present snakepit of corruption in D.C.;
10) addresses every major issue that is being passionately contended for by citizen groups today.
I don't mean to sound as though I'm trying to compete with Bob; like him, I'm just trying to put forth my best personal effort for the cause of liberty and the rule of law in this republic, for the sake of my own grandchildren as much as anything else.
But I understand that this -- as all else in human history -- is entirely subject to the decrees of a provident, gracious, omniscient Creator who sees the end of it. It may well be that His decree for our time is to put America in its place: not only for the feckless, corrupt politicians' sins, but for the profligate, spoiled, insipid average American's sins.
That's why the very first thing we should do, all of us, is take stock of our own lifestyles and habits...compare them with the way our forefathers lived, and the way others live who don't have the many blessings that we have. We are such an arrogant, spoiled population!
Yes, and obstinately ignorant. So, petitions in hand, we beg as a flock of chickens for mercy at the paw of the fox, truly expecting a reformational outcome!?
Sure, Judy.
