The Freedom-Governors Project

Why not think big? It takes the same effort as thinking small.

In Texas, there is an effort underway to find and elect a constitutionalist for governor in 2010. In previous articles I had suggested that Ron Paul consider running, but that seems unlikely due to his focus on federal and international issues like the US Fed and US foreign policy - so we are looking for someone else. The Blog for that effort is here: http://texasgovernorsearch.blogspot.com/

We all know we don't have much time. As Obama's and the media's efforts to conceal his true place of birth and history prove, the next white house occupant will make the US government even more secret and unapproachable than it became under the last three administrations. Obama's Senate Bill 2433 threatens to make the US a United Nations satrapy and his economic team proves that the same old-guard crowd of movers and shakers who controlled every president since Woodrow Wilson are still in charge.

So, why not duplicate the Texas effort in every state of the Union and throw a couple of monkey-wrenches into his gearbox?

State governors can be very powerful, once they understand they do not have to dance to the whistle of Washington DC. They can make their state's people and legislatures remember their original sovereignty. They can push their legislatures to utterly block unconstitutional federal would-be "mandates". They can teach their legislatures powerful lessons about their state constitutions by vetoing every unconstitutional law that comes before them. Governors can make them realize that constitutions are laws that control governments, not people. So what, if the legislatures manage to override their constitutionally oriented governor's veto every now and then? Make the legislators realize that violating their oaths of office has consequences! So far, nothng and nobody ever reminds them of that fact.

Especially states that have already blocked implementation of the Real ID Act or the 'Patriot' Act are fertile ground for this effort. This could be done under a third party banner, as independent candidates, or as efforts to gain the nomination of one of the wings of the two-faced majority party. Freedom Activists in every state should consider this very seriously. As Matt Hawes has correctly noted in his post titled "Thoughts for the Future" on the home page of this site, enthusiasm and energy only come about when the goals are big, when you're shooting for the stars.

If you like this idea and want to help, please comment on this post and email me (check the profile for address). It's always the big ideas that unite and energize peope, rarely the small ones.

Ron Paul has enough horse

Ron Paul has enough horse power to pull off Texas or at least startle the heck out of the establishment. He already has. Much needs to be done developing viable candidates. I like this idea as my state of Kansas, in spite of it's governor and in spite of a contingent of neoconservative republicans in the state house does do the right thing sometimes. It would be fertile ground.

Sounds like a good idea

But I think governors are as difficult to elect as any other politician. Whether you are talking about the president, or senators, or representatives or governors, the problem is the same. The people don't give a rat's ass about the constitution, so they have no interest in voting for people who will uphold it. The American people are completely ignorant of the constitution and worse yet they are determined to stay that way. People will vote for socialists who promise them more goodies from the public till. And for some reason they will vote for neo-con maniacs who want to invade the rest of the world. But they won't vote for people who only promise to uphold the constitution.

Somehow we have to awaken in the American people an interest in the constitution and a deep respect for the rights it protects. Maybe we need someone to make a movie depicting a future America where all of our rights have been lost and our country has fallen into absolute tyranny. The movie would have to show how the loss of each right resulted in more abuse heaped upon Americans.

Pretty negative comment.

Pretty negative comment. Pretty true though. People do not pay attention until they are hungry and cold.

Negativity police

It seems that Neo is asleep, for a Constitution Convention was just averted in Ohio, only 2 more states before they open the Constitution for reform. They also stated what changes where going to be made. I will let you all find that out for yourselves though.

Martial Law is soon to be here. Oh yeah, and Lyman is still a fag. And many people now know where he lives.
