Ok, so you have a sound issue for your streaming.
I am watching the live broadcast right now and while the host can hear the caller loud and clear, viewers hear a very low volume. If you adjust the mixer on your sound output of the sound properties you are outputting from, get a sound card with a good mixer/compression so you won't have to worry about it. I admire what you guys are doing, but a good compression on the overall signal would keep viewers to not have to adjust their volumes.
There are many tools you can use. I use a great limiter I paid $60 for called Elephant which is a clear and effective limiter. I use it as a pre effect sometimes, but it uses low cpu so it could possibly be used as a stream processor. It is a VST plugin. I use it along with Cubase 4/Wavelab 6. These are expensive, but worth it. I use them in my music production and Wavelab actually has podcasting tools in it. I've made my money back in the sound quality for someone like me, who isn't the most "engineer savvy."
What kind of interface are you using? Maybe get a good Condenser mic instead of a headset mic and any sound interface with +48v for phantom power and an XLR-XLR interface. You can get those relatively cheap at any music store. Some come with a light but workable version of Cubase!
All in all, if I can help or if you guys want any music beds, I will donate some to you!
Thanks,
Terry McClain
