I thought it might be fun to start doing weekly updates about what's happening in the IT department over here at BreakTheMatrix.com.
So, if you have website-related questions for me, please submit them here, and I'll try to address the ones with the most votes in a video blog each week.

This is a comment, not a question. I think we are seeing considerably less spam and I think that is largely due to Shelly's efforts. So thank you Shelly.

What is BTM's plan? I thought it was to have an internet and cable TV station combined with the blogs and forums.
since there is no updated schedule I've seen in many months. It's beginning to slip from my radar since so many hosts have gone silent here.
the site could benefit by making a new category that distinguishes between "featured columns" and "promotions" for shows, interviews, etc.
If you look at the featured columns section right now, you'll see that my blog is the only content -- the other 5 "featured columns" are promotions for shows.
There's a lot of great shows taking place on BTM and related sites --- however the site itself could always benefit from unique content. I think, before my blog post, Tom wrote a column, but between the two there have been about a dozen promotions.
The promotions are a great and necessary idea , but they merely direct a viewer to another time and another place. The columns should be a reason to visit the site --- not a place to see what's going on elsewhere.
The promotions are obviously necessary and a good idea but a new category would be helpful.
So much of what goes on online is promotion - usually self promotion -- from myspace to infowars, etc. people are trying to steer traffic to their particular site or project. It would be nice to give people a reason to stay on the site. Content is all any site has to offer.
P.S. congrats to Shelly and Kurt -- I'll keep checking out the shows -- and I want to keep hearing about them!!!!

I remember reading a few months ago that BTM was going to be putting together a couple freedom-oriented TV shows. Is this still in the plans? Since people like entertainment, I think this would help BTM take off with the masses.
Will there be a subscription fee for the shows?
I enjoy working with css and wanted to know if there is the possibility to design layouts for profiles.

I have ran across many liberty minded websites that link to BTM, yet, I have not seen BTM promote other sites.
My question is; Will BTM help promote other freedom websites?
For example I find http://www.givemeliberty.org/ link worthy, as well as http://www.america-again.blogspot.com/ (even though I'd like to learn more about it)

Our hope is that sites that are looking for exposure will create a profile here, gain friends, gain subscribers, and post great content as a way to create a presence on our site. This way sites are motivated to value add to the community and exposure is created on their basis of relationship with the community rather than a list of links.
http://www.america-again.blogspot.com could submit the first few paragraphs of each blog post they make as content. If the community votes the content up the blog gains exposure. If not the blogger must work at creating more compelling content.
We'll be developing more tools for interaction and relationship building within the site as time goes on.
