This story is about how the ACLU has filed suit on behalf of a NJ man who was threatened by the police captain and two other officers with a $1,000 per day fine for keeping his Ron Paul signs up too long. Although the officials agreed not to enforce the ban, they haven't repealed the ordinance or acknowledged that it is unconstitutional.

It is really sick that there is such a direct perversion of rights going on.
But it's good that people pay attention and that media outlets like the NYT publish stuff like this so people are aware.
