In my opinion, one of the strongest tools we have left (since the ballot box isn't getting the job done!) is JURY INDEPENDENCE! Judges discourage this and don't want jury members to dare realize that they are the most powerful people in the courtroom! Lawyers are usually strongly discouraged (risk being disbarred or making judge very angry) if they inform the jury of their power and duty, individually, to not only JUDGE THE FACTS, but to also JUDGE THE LAW!

This is one way the 18th amendment (prohibition) got repealed was because prosecutors couldn't get juries to convict under this unconstitutional law!

We need to really think about how we can educate the public. One of the best experts I know on the topic is Pastor David Whitney. I just heard him give a 6 hour presentation on this last week! I was excited and enthralled when I learned about the historical power of a jury member!
