Are politicians allowed to have a sense of humor more than twice per year?

Last Saturday night my wife and I attended the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Go Green Gala. It was a great night with female impersonator entertainment (or so I think they were guys dressed as girls...), good food and more than my fair share of JW Black Label, my favorito beverage of choice. After I greased the skids so-to-speak, I floated into my customary happy-stage, which usually lasts until the next morning :-)
I was cracking jokes and had the table in stitches... afterwards a fellow collegue and politico told me I shouldn't be the 'life of the party' because people want stoic, expressionless, serious representation in government.
What say you freedom lovers? Can't a future potential lawmaker indulge in a libation, enjoy a joke and puff cigar rings to his hearts content on his night off?
After all, we are all only human.

be a no-no for a state legislator, nor should a sense of humor. However, if it gets out of hand and you become a servant to your appetite for alcohol, parties, fine cigars, and late nights, you will have to give up your ambitions in state government and run for Congress.
By the way, try Glenmorangie Port Wood (not aged in sherry wood) sometime. Once you go single malt you never go back.

my wife and i got home from the gala last Saturday at 10:30pm and I was sawing wood by 10:35 (so she said!!!)... prerequisite for US House - INDEED!!!! What was that email circulated a while ago about the 535 members of congress... 100+ have criminal records, 45 went bankrupt yada yada yada.... :-)
Grab a cocktail, a cigar, a lampshade and have a few laughs. I respect you for not trying to hide the fun loving guy that you seem to be. Perhaps your fellow colleague and politico told you that you shouldn't be the "life of the party" because you were shining a bit too brightly on his stoic, expressionless demeanor.
I say have some fun;)
thanks! :-)
