This is nice...
There was always a thread of independence and a "don't tread on me" cockiness about George Carlin that in light of the last year of this movement seems to somehow fit. Georges' rants about "the establishment" and the "controllers of our world" sometimes seemed to cause nervous sidelong glances with the reality buried under the humor.
George often said things that amused, offended, disturbed, aroused, degraded, defiled, enlightened, bothered, bemused, enraged, engaged, delighted, decried and embarrassed.... but... he was an icon of a different time.... and he will be missed.
