People and The Land airdrops viewers into the universe of an occupied people, unreeling images of a new form of apartheid based on ethnicity. Challenging U.S. foreign policy and the conventions of the documentary form itself, People and The Land examines the concrete realities of Israel's conduct in the West Bank and Gaza, the level of U.S. support for that conduct through foreign aid, and the human cost of that aid in Palestine and the U.S

Read about the amazing story that took place during the filming of this PBS documentary and learn first-hand about censorship in modern day America. A gripping account as told by the films' producer Tom Hayes.

sharpsteve originally came across this on YouTube which led me to search for the whole movie, watch it and post it here on Break The Matrix.

It was made in 1997, but the occupation is always the same. The story alone if you take time to read it is amazing. You'll really like the scenes where the Israelis say how to take care of the "problem". One American holds up a sign saying "transfer all the Arabs to Oklahoma where there's oil" Isn't that a good idea? One Israeli says "Take all the Arabs and put them in Arab countries and make one big Disneyland for them" One Israeli settler says, "As long as the Arabs are peaceful they can stay here". and more.

This film is EXCELLENT and I didn't see anything in it that would make it outdated except maybe some of the specific names. Really, really good. I don't know if PBS finally showed it but at the time of the article above they would not. It talks about the American attempt to censor the making too. You know it's good if so many "nice" people didn't want it to be seen at the time. It's really nice of the doc makers to let the IOF have their say on how fair things are (yeah right) and then show the atrocities. [Robin]

Genocidal Murderers as Freedom Fighters

Documentaries are fascinating. Like the one showing those awful Israelis deliberately killing Muhammad Al Dura, a child in his father's arms.... until the documentary producers, France2 and its Palestenian collaborators got exposed in court for the extensive editing they did. That no Israeli fired toward the child but that the child was killed by Palestenian bullets didn't get any media because it wasn't nearly as interesting as the documentary version.

Or that documentary that was filmed in Jenin showing the body of an Israeli-massacred Palestinian being carried by the victim's friends who were crying and screaming revenge againt Israel.... until an Israeli helicopter flew overhead and the noise frightened the pole-bearers who dropped the coffin to the ground and ran away, including the dearly-departed who came out of the coffin and joined his friends.

To check out the voracity of Arab-produced documentaries and other pearls of wisdom from assorted terrorists, murderers and their clerics:

I believe that peace in the middle east will not come from any politician or rulers of kingdoms but from individuals getting to know each other and working together.

not so simple

After getting a slight jolt seeing McCain ads and posting the above messages, I did more reading on the site and realized that it was not that simple. Censoring and banning the opposing view is not an option especially for a group that believes and tries to promote 'limited government'.

This was a good experience in the debate over freedom of expression and censoring rules, and I suggest : 1. provide a full forum topic on this issue and develop a mature debate on it
and 2. in the FAQ (awesome that this question tops the list!) provide a more deep answer (like Trevor's comments regarding banning) and provide links to the forum threads that discusses this issue.

(and maybe 3: develop the ideas that relate 'money is money' to 'honest money' (differentiates between kinds of money!) which might lead to an ad policy that doesn't shun the opposing view but rather makes the 'opposing view holders' pay with 'honest money' (which in turn makes them earn that honest money through work which actualizes the libertarian view!!)

comprender? sometimes I confuse myself!

break the matrix

Thank you windy for a quick reply,

I have a feeling that talking to google might be useful.. they might be able to tweak the algorithm so there is some discrimination in what ads come through... I wonder who should be taking care of this stuff..

It does seem quite unfortunate and 'confusing' to have McCain ads finance (via google) a site about honest money, Liberty and non intervention!

McCain

Why do I always see a McCain poster on this site? Is it a trick or has this site received money to promote this warmonger

No, no money involved

from McCain. I think its just the google ad network. I read on here that they are switching away from google ads so there's a good chance it will stop in the near future. I suppose some alogrithm or something figures out this site has lots of political content so it directs political ads to be displayed. Or some such thing.
