Type of Content: Article "The Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults Act of 2008," introduced by Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.), would eliminate the threat of arrest and prison for the possession of up to 3.5 ounces of marijuana and/or the not-for-profit transfer of up to one ounce of marijuana. It would not affect federal laws prohibiting selling marijuana for profit, importing and exporting marijuana, or cultivating marijuana. It also would not affect any state or local laws and regulations. Because almost all marijuana arrests are made by local and state police, the primary impact of this federal bill is twofold: First, it would offer protection to people who are apprehended with marijuana in federal buildings or on federal land (such as national parks); and, second, the bill sends a message to state governments that the federal government is now open to the notion of states reducing their marijuana penalties, too. Decriminalization is needed in so many areas.
Certainly, most folks are aware, or at least should be aware, that most laws are written to garner additional revenue for the government.
Look at highway speed limits, or any speed limits, for that matter. How many times have you seen law enforcement vehicles traveling above the speed limit? If speed kills, how come so many law enforcement officers are still alive? The main purpose of any speed limit is to draw in more revenue.
Want to make your home a nicer place for you and your family to live, work, and play in? Don't forget to get your "permit"!
Permit. I shudder to think that I need to ask ANYONE for "permission" to improve my home, yet, if you want to live in society, you must follow the "rules". Maybe it's time to change the "rules"? Maybe the first thing to do is change the "rulers"!
What happens if you break the "law"? First, it depends on whether it is an infraction, or a felony.
Infractions are the minor offenses which are usually meant only to bring in more "fines", or revenue, as it were.
Felonies are the more serious crimes against persons and/or property and are meant to be punished by imprisonment. Also, hefty "fines" can be imposed on felonious perpetrators.
That is, unless you can afford a good lawyer!
O.J. proved; we have the best criminal justice system in the world that money can buy!
Anyway, criminal laws are meant to be tested in the courts, by juries, not by activist judges.
Folks, it's time to toss every incumbent in office. Put them all on notice that their record will be tried before the court of the people and their punishment WILL fit the crime.
Look at Social Security for a moment; if you want THAT fixed, take away congress' golden parachute and put THEM under SSA rules! Watch it get fixed OVERNIGHT!
Liberty and justice for all...... my, that sounds nice........ familiar too, huh? Let's bring 'em back, ALIVE!
I don't worry about nuthin.....
Unless it jumps right out in front of me......
Then I don't worry about it......
Unless it tries to bite me.......
Then I don't worry about it......
I just kill it!
No worries!
