Think the the Internet is this vast uncontrollable space? Sure, the edges are rather untamed, but the core? Think again... Most of the traffic in North America travels over Verizon, ATT, Qwest, Level 3, and/or the Sprint-Nextel backbone (see map). Be glad that Ron Paul continues to try to keep the government from starting down the nasty path of regulation... There's no doubt that once they started regulating, even in the interest of "nuetrality," these companies would use their powerful lobbies to get the laws changed to their advantage.
