Lamont Missick said he was taking pictures of damage to his car in the parking lot at St. Thomas University, where he teaches, when he was confronted by a police officer.

"He said that taking photographs on a college campus was considered suspicious activity," Missick said. "He said, 'Where are you from? Where were you born?' I told him, 'I have a valid Florida ID, why don't you deal with that?' And he was like, 'Well, this could be fake. You could be from al-Qaida,'" Missick said.

Proper Response

The proper response to an officer's mention that you could be from Al-Qaida is "So could you." Even my dog looks at cops with suspicion.
