This is a must-read article. Have you been worried about the North American Union? The United States of America is already a member of the Organization of American States (http://www.oas.org/), a western hemispherical socialist union. FTA:

All nations of the Hemisphere are called STATES in the Americas. The OAS or Organization of American States has a membership of 35 countries. The United States of America is a member of the OAS. In decisions of policy making the United States is one vote of 35. In most cases a vote of two-thirds of the members is all that is needed to move a declaration forward. The OAS is an agency of the United Nations and is authorized to act by the Summit of the Americas institution.

While people are talking about a North American Union conspiracy, they are missing the fact that a fully integrated hemisphere much like the European Union has already been formed.
