I like to post things in content that I think are helpful to attaining the freedom we all want, they may not be "news" but they are informative or inspiring none the less. One such writing that has stood out for making a difference in how I try to live my life is this "poetic essay". It comes from the book "The Prophet" and is one of a collection of essays. This one came to mind today as I was talking about sustainable living and what brought me to BTM. I think it contains a bit of insight into that which ultimately enslaves "free" men and women. I hope you enjoy it.

Wonderful

Yes, I did enjoy it--very much. I read through the others, and I particularly liked "On Laws." Have you ever seen a more apt description of much of the U.S.?

On Laws
But what of those to whom life is not an ocean, and man-made laws are not sandtowers,
But to whom life is a rock, and the law a chisel with which they would carve it in their own likeness?
What of the cripple who hates dancers?
What of the ox who loves his yoke and deems the elk and deer of the forest stray and vagrant things?
What of the old serpent who cannot shed his skin, and calls all others naked and shameless?
And of him who comes early to the wedding-feast, and when over-fed and tired goes his way saying that all feasts are violation and all feasters lawbreakers?

Thanks!

I am glad you enjoyed it. I have been meaning to post more, thanks for the reminder!
