I have a friend that does work with cancer cures and she was telling me with zeal how good the FDA is. From the beginning of conceptualization to release of a drug or chemical will take you around 15 years usually. This is because you need to know inside and out what your product will do in all reasonable circumstances.
What I'm wondering I guess is how these companies avoid knowing about these things before release. And if they do know, are they not considered dangerous enough? What is the process of being one of the few that gets through while other products struggle for decades.
I've read the article on Rumsfeld and aspartame. More examples would be interesting to see as well if anyone can dig something up.
I, Garland, will knock you all down!
Sweet! Good for him :) I know people that can't eat MSG or they r violently ill. MSG : Monosodium glutamate, a sodium salt of the amino acid glutamic acid that enhances the flavor of certain foods. I wonder if Donald Rumsfeld helped to create that too while he was at the FDA.
