...It created a propaganda campaign to the same end.
If you know anything at all about bioweapons, you know that non-contagious agents are ALWAYS used. Period.
There's a very important reason for this: A weapon that can't be aimed isn't a weapon; it's a doomsday device.
And furthermore, a virus which mutates as rapidly as HIV is said to do carries the additional risk that someday it'll mutate into a strain which breaks outside the target groups. Again, a weapon that cannot be aimed.
But, just for the sake of argument, let's say that the government found some way to design a virus (a questionable proposition to put it mildly,) and they got so good at it that they could even design a virus that would target specific groups. But then they went and designed a virus that takes 20 years to kill, allowing half its victims to die of old age or other causes. C'mon, get real.
A propaganda campaign, on the other hand, doesn't require any sort of advanced technology, and more importantly, it CAN be targeted at specific groups, and there's no chance that it'll mutate into something that will spread to the general population.
Adam, I can see that you really want to break out of the Matrix, so here's a dose of the red pill, just for you. You may not realize it, but your television has a built-in lie detector. Whenever a lie is broadcast into your home, it causes the screen to glow.
