The Hillsborough County Commission claimed that tax revenues were being cut, and therefore, that budget cuts were necessary. It chose to eliminate funding for public access TV which occasionally exposed the lies told by the corporate media cartel. The truth was that tax revenues were increasing as were overall expenditures, but the corporate media falsely informed the public that tax revenues were being cut.
