Whatever they are doing, it is certainly causing a stir, since the chairman is under fire now by the courts. My guess is that the government is a bit uptight about this. Let's get the word out!
that is all that can be done anyhow it seems
perhaps something will come of it
step 3 is to get 300 million signatures on it, and then as you're walking up the steps of congress
a jackboot takes the petition, sets fire to it, and ships your sorry a-- to Cuba
Let's see 80 hrs a week or free food in jail --- I'll take 80 hrs a week. THank you sir may I have another.
It is hard to know what to do and feel like any individual action is helping change the shape of things.
As for the TV suckled middle class, middle americans, they wont raise up until it starts getting really painful.
I think Neil has a good point about a general strike, the dock workers did it on may day on the west coast (to protest the war), shut pretty much the whole west coast down. Guess what , wasn't much in the Main Stream news.
We would need to be much more organized to effect corporate/state America to make a change- I like picturing a world-wide strike, though that seems like a fantasy.
I would love to see the teachers union join in on such a strike, maybe the air traffic controllers- (the union is Patco) and the truckers. God it would be beautiful.
The Marches on Washington haven't seemed to be doin Jack.
Unions and Students on strike yup.
If enough people sign and If enough people show up.
What is step two?
Get enough people for a general strike?
Get enough people to simultaneously withhold their income tax?
And it is also unconstituitional for bureaucrats to be making laws.
This is an interesting idea. I'm a little slow, but why aren't more more folks jumping on this? Sixty-six thousand signed at the site, they are looking for a million by June 30. Total US population is a bit over 300 million. Ten percent of that would be enough to get some attention.
I did a county wide petition, got 51% even with gov't time limit and incomprehensible rules. But the County hired a lawyer to throw it out so the cost of going to court ruined the effort.
Signing an on-line petition isn't near the effort as physically collecting signatures, and Givemeliberty is not asking for much cash. ??
