I don't think a 12 year old

has any business in a room with career politicians and diplomats
who are deciding on the future of nations

Isn't the idea that the people in that room are suppossed to have acheived their position through
some merit or political expertise

you can brainwash a 12 year old to say anything. I don't think her thoughts are really her own. If a 12 year old girl can lecture the UN how come I can't. I think I may know a few more things than her. Get her off the f---in stage and back to giving a book report to her middle school class.

She doesn't even know about the birds and the bees yet....

Hey, awesomo!

>your interpretation of what you watch and hear is clouded by the age, and probably gender, of the speaker. which was most likely the intention of the UN, to put up a cute little girl to plea their socialist case to people. if dogs could speak they'd put up a super cute puppy on that podium.
Yes, agenda's can be portrayed by anything, maybe even a cute southpark character? I actually have watched this video in it's intireity and I just do not reach the same conclusion as you do. That's all.

>it takes courage to say: so what?! so what that i have more and waste? it's mine to do what i please with it. that takes courage. what courage is there in condemning people for their day to day actions
Wow, awesomo, I have three teens and I am not raising them to have this kind of irresponsible, selfish attitude. This type of thinking is really scarier to me than that little girl's. No, I do not believe we should be forced to give anything, time, attention, compassion, money...these are all things we should do of our own free will, and because we find meaning in it. I would hope to send my children out into the world as kind, caring, responsible adults, and if they are not acting as such, I hope they will be called out on it.

>another great point. i don't want to have my wealth taken away from me, but, since i'm already forced to then it doesn't sound that bad.
you missed the point here, awesomo... it is bad. I do not like to hand over 30% of my income to the IRS to squander away on national defense/private corporations, bogus entities like the Dept. of Homeland Security, earmarks, the war on drugs, etc. etc. etc. Take for instance, Alhurra television, the U.S. government's $63 million-a-year effort at public diplomacy broadcasting in the Middle East. Alhurra is operated by non-profit corporation “The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc.” (MBN). MBN is financed by the American people through the U.S Congress. I do not recall being asked to support this endevor, and by the way, Alhurra means "the free one". That's ironic, free for who? Have you checked your cable or sattelite bill lately, it's far from free! I am saying, I would like to be the one to choose where and how my dollars are spent. For me, it would be for the benefit, not the detriment of society, and you, likewise, should be free do whatever you choose with yours! Just be glad I'm not your mom!

> Yes, agenda's can be

> Yes, agenda's can be portrayed by anything, maybe even a cute southpark character?

i do have an agenda. it's to push for a system where i'm not coerced into giving up anything that's mine. i want to be free not to contribute or help.

> I actually have watched this video in it's intireity and I just do not reach the same conclusion as you do.

that's my point exactly. you failed to see what it for what it was. a call for collective action and more forceful wealth redistribution.

> Wow, awesomo, I have three teens and I am not raising them to have this kind of irresponsible, selfish attitude. This type of thinking is really scarier to me than that little girl's.

really? i'm scared of having anything of mine stolen which is what this little girl is calling for. it's scary to you that i want to use all i have for my own benefit? what's scary about that?

> No, I do not believe we should be forced to give anything, time, attention, compassion, money...these are all things we should do of our own free will, and because we find meaning in it.

yet, that's exactly the opposite of what this girl is preaching. you seem to agree with her and yet disagree with her. again, just in case you missed it, she is calling for more forceful wealth redistribution. she is saying that there is something wrong with me having more than starving kids in less developed countries. you agree with this? should i somehow feel bad for having what i worked for?

> I am saying, I would like to be the one to choose where and how my dollars are spent. For me, it would be for the benefit, not the detriment of society, and you, likewise, should be free do whatever you choose with yours!

yet again. you go against what the girl is talking about. so you agree with me that your money is yours to spend, yet you agree with the girl that people should give a portion of their money to the less fortunate because they can afford to. let us not make the mistake about what is suggested here. she's not preaching morality, she calls for wealth redistribution which is by definition forceful.
so to recap. you agree with the girl that says that wealth should be redistributed and you agree with me that that's wrong. i totally understand you now.

Socialist agenda?

First of all, she was 12 when this video was filmed, I do not think socialism was her agenda, as much as generating a social awareness of the problems we faced and unfortunately still face, globally and as human beings. I felt she was asking the adults to act responsibally, and personally, I don't see a problem with that. There IS alot of waste, selfishness and greed in society, and she had the courage to point that out. I would not want to be told I had to hand over my wealth for someone elses agenda, but in reality, isn't that what we do every April 15th anyways?

she was 12

> I do not think socialism was her agenda, as much as generating a social awareness of the problems we faced and unfortunately still face, globally and as human beings.

she might have been too young to understand what the implications of a system she advocates are, but the people commenting on this video praising her for her wonderful points are surely old enough to get it. this girl make one point after the next for the collectivist system of action and forced wealth redistribution. i say 'forced' because we know full well that people won't give up their wealth voluntarily, and for good reason, it's theirs.

> I felt she was asking the adults to act responsibally, and personally, I don't see a problem with that.

that's not all she was asking. you should watch the whole video and try not to pick out only the bits you agree with. you don't see a problem with her condemning lack of wealth redistribution? she's not just merely asking people to act responsibly, she's calling for everyone to give up, what in her view is, excess wealth. i've heard this song before and it sounds to me just the same coming from a little girl. your interpretation of what you watch and hear is clouded by the age, and probably gender, of the speaker. which was most likely the intention of the UN, to put up a cute little girl to plea their socialist case to people. if dogs could speak they'd put up a super cute puppy on that podium.

This girl ROCKS!

I want her on my team, she blows them all away. I just wonder if her words fell on deaf ears, although at the very least I would think it would be demoralizing to be scolded by a 12 year old. I hope the truth hurts the ones it needs to most. Thanks for sharing this video!

hmmm

i don't hear anything from this girl that i agree on.
"we should act together as one single world towards one single goal" she says.
to me that sounds scary.
she goes on to complain "we are afraid to share, to let go of some of our wealth"
if there's anything this girl says that doesn't sound like a socialist agenda, then please, somebody let me know.

Rainforests

I do believe that destroying the rainforests is adding to our weather problems.
Its like a man who is bald out in the sun will get a sunburned head! Someone with
a full head of hair won't have that problem. Just a 1/2 a degree can make a difference.

I agree with you

on the effects of massive deforestation. That is a clever way to put it.
