"A U.S. Citizen is not required by law to have a Social Security number." This is a quote from a letter I received from a Mr. Don King, Assistant Manager at the SSA office in my locale. This means that despite all the assumptions in which we have engaged over the past many generations, our national government employees have never had the legal right to require us to either have or use a Social Security number. Feeling deceived? "Too bad," say the government people, "you are just a number. Stand in line."

Why is this significant? There arises a question as to the role independence plays in how we live as sovereign American citizens and how that independence, or lack thereof, affects the quality of our lives. If we are to be subservient to an overly powerful national government to which we look for protection and sustenance then independence is a moot point. If, however, we, as a free people, wish to be self-directing, self-reliant and self-determining then the acquisition of and use of a government imposed unique identifying number is antithetical to our existence, regardless of its benevolent intent.

Here I propose that you, the independent sovereign citizens of the several States of the united States, assert your independence and claim your right to self-determination by taking the steps necessary to learn about your rights with respect to the Social Security Administration and whether or not you are, in fact, required to participate in the scheme. If you find you are not under any obligation to participate, might I suggest you extricate yourself forthwith and, in effect, give yourself a pay raise by eliminating one of the taxes you pay for the privilege of supporting yourself through gainful employment.

Please understand there are risks involved in making any decision that might act in a way to de-fund government. They don't like us taking their wealth even though they have been taking ours for many years. This content shall not be construed as advice of any kind and I urge you to educate yourself as to the legal nature of any decision you make for yourself. While caution may be prudent, let us not be timid for there is much to be gained by working to return to independence.

"Oppose tyranny. It's your freedom."

None of our three children has an SSN

Everybody in the family, except my mother-in-law, thinks that's crazy...but then the Loyalists thought the Colonists were crazy too. (they (with the exception of my sisters-in-law) also think we were and are crazy for voting for Ron Paul in the primary)

Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone; and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.--John Quincy Adams
