Today is a sad day not only for my city but all governments and those involved that do not follow the law.
The former mayor Kilpatrick received the punishment for his crime against the court, the city and its people.
Four months in prison and five years probation, in which he cannot seek or hold public office durring the durration of his sentence. This may seem a bit leanient, but concidering what a full trial would have done to the city, it will have to suffce. This matter, concerning the misuse of city funds, lying under oath, ubstruction of justice, assult of a court officer, the unsolved murder of a stripper hired by the mayor for a party at the mayors mansion, all of it, is a discrace to we the people. My hope is that this example of what can happen when those take an oath to serve and fail to carry out that promise, will wake up enough people to want to get involved.
