Moving along. It appears as though we could be in for a few years of generally cooler and wetter weather due to changes in the AMO. This will likely have a negative impact on the graphs of the warming alarmists, but I am sure they will rise to the occasion and explain it away in the canonically correct language of the "Church of AGW." I defer to Lubos Motl for further commentary.

Lubos Motl is a Czech physicists from Pilsen who has garnered quite a reputation as a critic of the poor science in anthropogenic global warming theory and methodology. I find his writing to be generally lucid and his intellect formidable - unlike my own mediocre, mundane intellect.

Governments around the world have positioned themselves to grab inconceivable economic and political power over most aspects of our lives in the name of fighting "Global Warming". It could be worse if it the "consensus" were to change in favor of "Global Cooling." In the language of Monty Python, it is conceivable, if the "consensus" were to change that the "bad" scientists, the warmers, could be sacked and "good" scientists, the coolers, could replace them. Warming at least provides longer growing seasons and is marginally more survivable. Significant cooling would lead to widespread crop failure, starvation and death. Competition for resources would create even more strife. More draconian measures would be demanded from governments to deal with the cooling crisis.

It seems like a no-win situation in the policy arena until we change the fundamental way we craft our solutions - Climate or otherwise.
Personally, I would prefer to see market solutions.

And, yes, I am aware of other factors that affect climate such as the currently late solar cycle.
