There is a real bias here against traditional conservatives. One ray of hope, though, is that many people in the entertainment don't know what to make of libertarians. On the one hand, we are anti-establishment, which is a plus in an industry that is always on the lookout for the next big thing, but on the other-- well, we are free-market capitalists, and that's just patently unacceptable to the majority of Hollywood types. I have met a few closet libertarians, who understand that, to some extent, their job depends on them keeping quiet about their political beliefs. I have been outspoken at times, but I know I have to parse it somewhat. It's especially difficult when politics come up during a work meeting, and what is supposed to be a discussion about a kids' movie turns into a liberal love-fest. I find it wiser to hold back in that type of situation. Maybe that's cowardly, but I have mouths to feed and a mortgage to pay, so I just try to be pleasant, make sure my work is above reproach, and save my political opinions for situations where they won't get me into too much trouble.

Anyone who champions Mel Gibson is a bigot.

I'm not talking about supporting his rights to his speech, thoughts, and bigotry, just supporting him as a person. As a person, Mel Gibson is vile and repulsive.

The LA liberals got the whole Bush thing exactly right.
