Hal needs to site his sources, or at least show us how to connect the dots. I don't doubt it though.
Used to I would agree with you but, nowadays since we're all obviously on the internet, the citing of sources is less important as it's VERY easy to find things out yourself. I think the act of bringing the information up is enough for most people on message boards as it simply gives you the guide to read and learn for yourself. Just my 2 cents. Google is a hell of a tool.
