Is there something about this chart that looks a little strange? Doing what they do best, the federal reserve expanded the monetary base by an astonishing 10% in September and as much 7.6% in only two weeks. If this is not enough to make you want to get rid of your paper dollars now, maybe the advice of professional asset managers will. According to an IBD study, the majority of asset managers are recommending that their clients buy hard assets such as gold and commodities due to the uncertainty in the markets. Also interesting to point out is that the US mint has been forced to halt sales of 24-karat gold coins due to heavy demand.
