For the past 60 years, since I first became aware of politics during Harry Truman's 1948
campaign every campaign has accented fear of the other and the evilness of the other
candidates in the campaign. This fear cycle has increased every election. Politicians
accentuate the fear because it's easier to manipulate people who are afraid. Ron Paul
has come along now after years of he himself using the fear angle to get and keep
himself in congress and is attempting to collect on all of those years of fear mongering.
I think this whole fear mongering style of politics is a result of transfering the advasarial
system of the legal system to the two party politicial system. This is a huge error that
will continue until a real change based on problem solving rather than winning the
next election can take place.

"Ron Paul has come along now after years of he himself using the fear angle to get and keep himself in congress and is attempting to collect on all of those years of fear mongering. "
I watched an interview from Ron Paul's 1988 presidential campaign, and was astonished that his answers, 20 years later, are literally word for word the same. This tells me that he's been saying this for so long that he can do it in his sleep. None of his positions on these issues seems to have changed - not even the way he explains them! About what did he exploit fear, and when?
