Thats a very good

Thats a very good point.

You'd have to ask a socialist. LoL

Maybe he believes in making legal changes to the constitution through constitutional amendments. Which is a whole lot more respect than the Constitution receives from others who just ignore it. I don't necessarily agree with it, but its Constitutional and I don't think we can ever expect every American to agree. There will always be Progressives and Conservatives. the prize, is to get both of these factions to obey the laws and protect the rights given to us by the Constitution.

If you put a noose around the neck of a neo con and put him up on a stool, he'll kick the stool out from under himself because "well for better or for worse I'm already here."

socialism

Yes, I actually meant to be a little provocative, only because it seems that somehow people are able to ignore this "inconvenient truth" about the left. No matter how strongly they support our rights not to be wrongly arrested or imprisoned, spied upon, or conscripted for war, if they turn around and violate our unalienable right to the fruits of our labor then they have really taken away our right to life. It is the most bizarre compartmentalism to me to defend "civil liberties," but not count your means of survivial - the fruits of your labor - as the most important civil liberty.

People can survive without free speech, without freedom of religion, without freedom of the press. They can't survive without eating, and it is only through their labor that they can put food on their table.

No tyrant has ever really oppressed anyone in order to suppress free speech. THat may have been a side consequence or a tactic in getting what the tyrant wanted, but what all tyrants have really wanted throughout history is to gather wealth that they did not earn. That is the only real threat.

Socialism is after the very same thing. Being a slave with the right to practice any religion I want is not my idea of "liberty."

Well, now that that's off my chest...back to work! :)

How can a socialist

respect our Constitution when socialism has no respect for property rights, the most basic, fundamental right, without which the others are merely window dressing?
