Another banter from DanielC:

Hats off to the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers today in their first game against a ranked division 1 team, Penn State. Everyone came to play and gave 100% the whole game! The offense moved the ball up the field rather well against Penn during the first-half. Even though the final score of CCU 10 and Penn 66, it was a great game to watch. Go Chants!

In the other game of the day, the non-ranked East Carolina University Pirates upset the #22 ranked Virginia Tech Hokies in a grand underdog showing of determination and skill. The final score was ECU 27 and VT 22. Go Pirates!

These two games today reflect why I have been such a strong supporter of Dr. Ron Paul for the nomination of the Republican Party presidential candidate in 2008. When folks around me whined that the MSM was not allowing his message to be presented, I kept telling them of his message. When folks around me whined that a vote for him was a wasted vote, I got myself, my wife and others to go to the polls and cast a vote for him. When South Carolina awarded McCain the win in the primary with only 34% voting for him, I went to the GOP county and attempted to become a delegate. When the MSM awarded McCain the nomination with over ten state primaries yet to be held, I donated to the campaign and wrote stories about how McCain only had 36% of the total Republican vote at that point.

We still support and hope for a miracle that Dr. Ron Paul gets the nomination. It could have happened if the GOP had not started cheating and rigging the game in the leaders’ choice during the county and state conventions. With many, many more supporters of Dr. Ron Paul firing up the grassroots support to become involved at the county and state level, the out-manned leadership of the Republican party started scrambling to find any supporters for McCain to show up at these conventions to become delegates. They out-gunned the grassroots of the Ron Paul supporters by stacking the game for McCain.

In convention after convention, they presented the delegates with “pre-selected” list of delegates they deemed worthy of heading on to the next level. It is like Penn’s coaching staff saying to the Chants that they cannot play with the players willing to go the distance, but use only the injured and third string which would have been an even bigger spread of points. It is exactly the same as if the VT Alumni mandating that only these eight players were allowed on the field at a time when the Hokies crossed over the fifty yard line this would have lead to the presumed winners actually being able to win. When you play by the rules, sometimes the underdogs get a win.

I hate to say that this year; the GOP leadership has picked, promoted, and forced on the rest of the Republican Party the worst candidate we could have presented to go up against the JUGERNAUT of a candidate from the Democrat Party. With McCain picking Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate, you can see the desperation within the McCain and GOP leadership. I would venture to guess that Palin was promised some rather extravagant “gifts” to put her name to this ticket for 2008. This is one underdog I will not be pulling for this year when I go to the ballot box.

My choice for underdog to vote for is the Barr/Root Libertarian Party nominee.

With no Democrat or Republican candidate making the Texas General Election deadlines he’s got Texas won! But then I am sure that the monopoly party of the governing class will be able to break the law and put their Democrat and Republican choices on the ballot after the August 26th deadline.
