Fraud at NC GOP convention
|
|
Type of Content: Article I've been hearing reports from this weekend's North Carolina GOP convention. Ron Paul had over 100 supporters in a convention that ranged from 500-700 in attendance. From the vote totals in the primaries, Ron Paul should have gotten 5 pledged delegates to the national convention. They only gave him two, and the two they picked were NOT Ron Paul supporters. They're obligated to vote for Paul in the first round, but after that can vote for whomever they want. But that's not the problem. See, they do a LOT more at the convention than nominate their candidate (who is certain to be McCain). They also write the national resolutions and the platforms. Ron Paul delegates should have their say in all of this. Since the two delegates are not Paul supporters but establishment delegates, they've totally eliminated North Carolina's chances of having its proportionate views heard in the resolutions and in the platform. And I'd be REALLY surprised if this is the only state where this is happening. There is no doubt anymore. The GOP is EVIL. And if you continue to support this despicable organization, then you need to read my blog entry on Battered Voter Syndrome.

This stuff makes me sick. And we're conspiracy theorists for thinking the GOP does this stuff on purpose... so some would say.
The citizens of the US need to wake up from their apathy stupor and demand change or create it. It is not just a right but a responsibilty of the citizens to overthrow or change our government when it no longer serves the people.
The past elections have shown us canidates from the same cloth. Corporate shills and greedy businessmen who do not have the people's best interest in mind when making decisions. We, the citizens, have sat back and watched bush and his cronies wipe their butts with the constitution long enough. Time for change has come. Dont decide between shades of grey this election. Obama and McCain even sound the same in their speeches and policies. Neither have the citizens in mind when they talk about "change". If you listen closely they even use the same phrases in their speeches.
Show Ron Paul that he is the best man, join him and the rest of the "awakened" Americans in D.C. on July 12th. Let the Revolution begin.
(or maybe it was even here?) on the daily paul regarding how the NC Republican Party required their potential national delegates to have met with a selection committee prior to the state convention. Most of the Ron Paulers were never notified of said requirement and hence did not meet with anyone and were stricken from the roster of potential national delgates to MN for not following the rules. Additionally, it would appear that two high ranking party members/elected officials also did not attend the pre-selection committee and hence were in violation of their own rules. The same rules that prevented potential Ron Paul national delegates from even being considered for nomination. Seeing as the NC republican party has no designated 'superdelagates' who get automatic approval and voting status - the party chair simply raised a motion to exempt the two offenders from the party's rules and had it quickly rushed through convention. They can now safely go to MN and vote for McChump.
This is the type of shit that makes average people apathetic to politics. And party leaders had better recognize when they pull this crap - people will remember. The party itself is nothing without its individual members. Treating them like second class citizens while giving preferential treatment to party insiders is not going to endear them to anybody. This is just one small example, but it is happening all over and the combination of all this trickery, deception, and rule manipulation is painting a very sad picture of the GOP indeed. Which is, of course, quite richly deserved.
The problem is, so few people hear of it. While they blather on about what "superdelegates" may or may not do, members of both parties are having their primary votes yanked right out from under them.
Don't worry, this IS happening all over the United States. Hush-hush meetings going on behind the scenes, rules being changed in the blink of an eye, platforms of delegates being presented by the establishment rather than being voted on by the people... I dare say: it's totally, utterly corrupt. If anyone attends their state convention, they will find that out very quickly.
